    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<table>\n <tbody>\n  <tr>\n   <td>\n    <p>The Ambulatory Surgery Center Registered Nurse- Operating Room is responsible for professional nursing care of the surgical patient and to achieve total patient centered care through use of the nursing process.</p>\n    <p>Job Relationships<br>\n      Reports to the Manager of Operations, Operative Services</p>\n    <p>Principal Responsibilities<br>\n      •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;CIRCULATING - Accompany the patient to the operating room, assume responsibility with other members of OR team for the comfort and safety of the patient. &nbsp;Assist the anesthesiology team with induction. &nbsp;Perform intraoperative nursing duties. &nbsp;Complete the intraoperative record. &nbsp;Observe and maintain sterile technique. &nbsp;Dispense medications as ordered by physician. &nbsp;Supply the operative team with sterile supplies as needed. &nbsp;Follow protocol of lab specimens and sponge/needle count as outlined in Policy and Procedure manual. &nbsp;Accompany the patient to recovery room reporting to RN.<br>\n      •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;SCRUB - Prepare necessary instruments and supplies for the case. &nbsp;Scrub-in and assist the doctor during the operation. &nbsp;Pass instruments, maintain sterile field, safe disposal of blades and needles and count sponges/needles. &nbsp;Advise the supervisor or equipment repair needs. &nbsp;&nbsp;<br>\n      •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Maintain the facility in a neat and orderly manner at all times, requiring comprehensive knowledge of operating room set-up and equipment.<br>\n      •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Restock supplies as indicated daily.<br>\n      •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Check crash cart, defibrillator and medications daily, see that all equipment is present and in working order.<br>\n      •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Transfer specimens/cultures to lab.<br>\n      •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures.<br>\n      •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training &amp; accomplishments as required per policy.<br>\n      •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Provide excellent customer service and adhere to SC Way customer service philosophy.<br>\n      •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Perform other job duties as assigned.</p>\n    <p>Education/Experience<br>\n      •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Graduate of accredited school of nursing.<br>\n      •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Three-five years of comparable nursing experience preferred.</p>\n    <p>Licenses/Certificates<br>\n      •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.<br>\n      •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;CPR certification per American Heart Association guidelines required within 30 days of hire.&nbsp;<br>\n      •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;ACLS certification per American Heart Association guidelines required within six months of employment.&nbsp;</p>\n    <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities<br>\n      •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Must be able to adjust to various personalities and situations.<br>\n      •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Must have the ability to control emotions and maintain composure under stress, using tact and good judgment.<br>\n      •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Must maintain professional behavior.<br>\n      •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Must possess manual dexterity to use keyboard and handle equipment and appliances.<br>\n      •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Must be capable of pushing, pulling, stooping, bending and lifting.<br>\n      •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.</p>\n    <p>Working Environment<br>\n      •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Conditions include exposure to blood and body fluids, tissue and contagious diseases and/or potentially hazardous materials.<br>\n      •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Occasional heavy lifting required.</p>\n    <p>PHI/Privacy Level<br>\n      •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;HIPAA1<br>\n      &nbsp;</p></td>\n  </tr>\n </tbody>\n</table>",
