Join our growing team supporting customer missions as a <strong>Cloud Engineer</strong> in <strong>McLean, Virginia</strong>.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>This role focuses on designing, building, and managing data infrastructure across on-premise and cloud environments. You will develop pipelines and algorithms to ingest and optimize large datasets, generate metrics to ensure data integrity, and build tools to monitor, automate, and deploy AI/ML models across existing analytics platforms. You will also lead cloud computing optimization efforts (leveraging tools like PySpark and distributed computing), design and implement microservices architecture, and support CI/CD processes across multiple environments.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The contractor will serve as a full-stack technical enabler for the project's data science team — covering everything from system architecture and database administration to UX development and production support. This includes designing scalable platforms for data collection, analysis, and visualization, as well as owning end-to-end product development from concept through deployment.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:   </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrated experience in the development, customization, and use of developing applications for analysis. </li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience with cloud microservices and tools, such as S3, RDSes, and EC2 </li>\n <li>instances. </li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience managing Structured Query Language (SQL) databases within cloud based relational databases; specifically, populating SQL database (MySQL and Postgres) with new schemas, mapping between different SQL databases, and streamlining data discovery. </li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience implementing and automating Nifi workflows for Extract-Transform­ load processes, as well as custom Python or Java code when appropriate. </li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience creating operating system level scripts to perform ETL operations on SQL databases. </li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience with version control systems, specifically Git. </li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience with JavaScript, CSS, HTMLS, and Flask. </li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience using containerization such as Docker or developing and deploying containerized applications or databases. </li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience with user-centered design principles and practices, web standards, </li>\n <li>typography and color, and web usability standards. </li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience Anaconda, Bash, and Terraform for development purposes. </li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience building and maintaining Cl/CD pipelines with software such as source control (Git/GitHub), continuous build/delivery (Jenkins), issue management (Jira), and documentation/collaboration (Confluence). </li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience with automated testing and deployment of infrastructure or </li>\n <li>configurations. </li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience in the administration, provisioning, and use of cloud technologies (i.e. AWS) particularly with application of data science approaches in the cloud. </li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience optimizing connectivity between cloud-based services and on prem high performance cloud compute servers. </li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining systems and architectural documentation </li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience with provisioning and management of cloud compute resources and services, such as AWS, Azure, or similar. </li>\n <li>Demonstrated professional proficiency with the following coding languages: SQL, PL/SQL, </li>\n <li>Python, Java. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Desired Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Demonstrated experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or closely related discipline. </p></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What you can expect from us</h2>\n<p><em>BCore is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
