Description

JOB SUMMARY The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive proposals for doors, frames, and hardware based on project specifications and customer requirements. This role involves reviewing architectural drawings, performing material take-offs, and maintaining awareness of upcoming construction opportunities. The Estimator collaborates closely with both clients and internal teams to ensure a smooth transition from pre-construction to project execution. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for building customer relationships and supporting overall project success. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Maintain and help build lasting customer relationships through excellent service and responsiveness. Manage and track upcoming construction projects and bid opportunities Perform material take-offs, identify relevant drawings and review architectural specifications. Prepare clear, accurate and competitive proposals for customers. Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and win projects through consultative selling. Coordinate with internal project teams to ensure seamless project handoff and clear communication for successful execution and customer satisfaction. Skill in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and construction documents to develop precise material take-offs and proposals. Knowledge of Comsense or similar industry-specific software used for estimating and project management tasks. Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, to interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders. Skill in organization, time management, and problem-solving to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines efficiently. Ability to apply a sales-oriented approach focused on building long-term partnerships and securing new business opportunities. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS In office environment Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. PLANNED BUSINESS TRAVEL This job requires less than 10% planned business travel. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School diploma or equivalent is required. Associate or bachelor’s degree, preferred. 4 to 7 years of experience in the commercial door, frame, and hardware industry.
