    "description": "<p>Cabin Resource Management’s Ltd. growing Heritage Division is seeking an <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Senior</span><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Archaeologist</span>.</p>\n<p><br>Cabin takes an innovative approach to its Heritage Division by applying and innovating anti-<br>colonial practices that promote reconciliatory action and develop relationships of trust with our<br>First Nations partners. At Cabin, we take a rights-based approach to our archaeological<br>work that centers the community and individual rights of First Nations to their tangible and<br>intangible archaeological cultural heritage.</p>\n<p><br>We provide services for all project phases and types including private land assemblies to<br>forestry developments and everything in between. We ensure regulatory compliance and go<br>beyond by integrating Indigenous community collaborators throughout a project’s lifecycle to<br>find solutions that respect and support their social, cultural, and economic needs. Our highly<br>skilled team integrates digital tools and technology to record, understand, and learn from the<br>past to develop innovative systems to plan for a sustainable future. Cabin is committed to<br>building respectful relationships with Indigenous communities throughout BC and centers<br>reconciliation in all our actions.<br></p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fieldwork including survey, monitoring, and data recovery excavation</li>\n<li>Assisting in cost estimate and proposal preparation</li>\n<li>Coordinating with field staff, GIS staff, and senior managers from Cabin’s other<br>Divisions to support project work</li>\n<li>Liaison and coordination with First Nations on a project-by-project basis</li>\n<li>Field preparations and logistical support</li>\n<li>Compiling and submitting Provincial site inventory records</li>\n<li>Writing, review and editing of AOA, PFR, AIA interim and final reports, and<br>drafting comprehensive Heritage Management Plans</li>\n<li>Routine office tasks; Contributing to and developing innovative community-<br>guided cultural heritage management practices</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What we are looking for:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor’s degree in archaeology or anthropology</li>\n<li>BC Archaeology Branch approved Field Directors (as per Bulletin 17) for the<br>Interior Plateau Cultural Zone. (Those that can demonstrate that they are very<br>close to obtaining this will also be considered)</li>\n<li>Individuals eligible to hold permits, with preference to candidates with province-<br>wide</li>\n<li>Permit holding status will be strongly considered</li>\n<li>Canadian citizen or valid work permit</li>\n<li>Valid BC driver’s licence (Class 5 or higher)</li>\n<li>Willingness to travel and spend time away from home</li>\n<li>Compliance with Cabin’s OH&amp;amp;S system</li>\n<li>WCB OFA Level 1 (transportation endorsement an asset)</li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal skills</li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team</li>\n<li>Ability to solve problems</li>\n<li>Ability to manage your time and set priorities to meet project deadlines</li>\n<li>Able to conduct fieldwork under strenuous conditions and rough terrain</li>\n<li>Experience creating, tracking, and managing budgets</li>\n<li>Experience writing and editing technical reports</li>\n<li>Familiarity with the Heritage Conservation Act and current BC Archaeology<br>Branch Policies and bulletins</li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience or willingness to work collaboratively with First Nations</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What we offer:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>A positive, dynamic and inclusive work environment for everyone</li>\n<li>Wage and biannual profit share based on experience, competency and length of service</li>\n<li>Boot, training and professional development allowances</li>\n<li>Extended medical and dental and and RRSP contributions based on years of service</li>\n<li>Flexible holidays and 20 cm snow rule for winter shredding</li>\n<li>The chance to work in a unique industry in the beautiful outdoors<br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Cabin is committed to LGBTQ+ inclusion in the workplace by creating a diverse and inclusive<br>work environment for everyone.
