          "text": "<p>Under administrative direction, is responsible for overseeing engineering work directing the activities of a division which provides a broad range of management, contract administration, and architectural/engineering services in the development and implementation of Capital Improvement Projects. Exercises direct supervision over assigned staff.</p><p><br>\n<strong>Work Hours</strong><br>\nCity Tower - 100 W Houston, San Antonio, TX 78205<br>\n<br>\n<strong>Work Location</strong><br>\n100 W Houston Street (City Tower) San Antonio, Texas 78205<br>\n&#xa0;</p><p><strong>Essential Job Functions</strong></p><ul><li>Develops administrative and operational plans in conjunction with the department director to accomplish completion of engineering project as efficiently as possible.</li><li>Formulates overall capital projects implementation strategy.</li><li>Prepares project status reports based on team reports and feedback.</li><li>Compiles construction data and coordinates with City Public Service, San Antonio Water System, and public, private, and franchised utility companies to expedite the relocation of utilities.</li><li>Establishes priorities and goals for engineering project teams and projects.</li><li>Visits project job sites, reviews contractor job progress, and ensures compliance with engineering plans and standards.</li><li>Provides engineering expertise to resolve construction related conflicts and disputes.</li><li>Prepares budget input data for assigned engineering projects and proposals.</li><li>Prepares council agenda items (i.e., proposal acceptance, services contracts, additional fees, construction contract award, field alterations, additional construction funds, railroad, and State Highway agreements).</li><li>Initiates and revises project cost data reports and approves payments to consultants, contractors, etc.</li><li>Prepares and submits bond fund sale and CDBG fund needs and status of funds.</li><li>Initiates interest statement packages, monitors Architect/Engineer contract schedules and maintains Architect/Engineer master lists.</li><li>Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required and as directed.</li></ul>",

          "text": "<ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college, university or engineering school approved by a State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers</li><li>No substitution for education allowed.</li><li>Six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience in engineering, to include two (2) years of experience in municipal public works projects.</li><li>Valid Class \"C\" Texas Driver's License.</li><li>Licensed to practice engineering in the State of Texas as a Professional Engineer.OR Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) from another state with the ability to obtain a P.E. license in the State of Texas within 6 months.<br>\n&#xa0;</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with City of San Antonio Public Works projects desired.</li><li>Excellent communicator, experience speaking with all levels of management and high-profile stakeholders.</li><li>Five (5) years+ experience supervising and managing&#xa0;multiple or large teams.</li><li>Five (5) years+ experience working with complex municipal or governmental projects.&#xa0;</li><li>Experience working with multiple utility and outside agencies.</li></ul>",
