    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em>A HOTEL WITH THE FREEDOM OF STYLE!</em></span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em>Located in the heart of Central Alberta, the Red Deer Resort &amp; Casino is the ideal place to grow your career in hospitality while providing excellent and personalized service to our guests while working within a positive team environment.</em></span></p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Summary</span></p>\n<p>Under the direction of the <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Executive Housekeeper</span>, the <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Laundry Attendant</span> is responsible including but not limited to performing laundry duties ensuring linens and other laundry is clean and properly presented.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Essential Duties and Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Receive soiled linens, sort, inspect laundry, and record all damaged or stained items.</li>\n<li>Operate washers and dryers according to recommended capacity and other manufacturers’ guidelines.</li>\n<li>Add necessary chemicals in the correct quantities prior to wash cycles.</li>\n<li>Fold clean linens (free stain) and store them. </li>\n<li>Assist in daily linen counts for monthly inventories.</li>\n<li>Inform the supervisor/manager of malfunctioning equipment.</li>\n<li>Respond quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner.</li>\n<li>Takes personal responsibility for equipment, ensuring it is operated correctly and secure at all times.</li>\n<li>Keep assigned areas clean, safe and hygienic.</li>\n<li>Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all chemicals and cleaning products and the correct handling procedures.</li>\n<li>Follow all Occupational Health and Safety procedures</li>\n<li>The immediate supervisor/manager may change your role/duties depending on the needs of the operation</li>\n<li>Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Immediate Supervisor / Executive Housekeeper, including but not limited to housekeeping, laundry services, and other support functions as required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Education, Qualification and Requirements</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be able to provide a clean criminal record check</li>\n<li>Physically able to perform all duties of the position</li>\n<li>Ability to follow instructions and to work independently</li>\n<li>Excellent time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure</li>\n<li>Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is an asset</li>\n<li>Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment</li>\n<li>Strong work ethic and positive team attitude - Able to communicate both verbally and written in English</li>\n<li>Comfortable with using common household chemicals.</li>\n<li>First Aid/CPR preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Work Environment</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Able to stand and walk repeatedly over the course of a shift</li>\n<li>Ability to tolerate exposures to heat, cold and water</li>\n<li>Experience working with laundry equipment, including commercial washing machines, dryers, and commercial presses.</li>\n<li>The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.</li>\n<li>While performing the duties of this job, there may be stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching and crouching</li>\n<li>Regularly exposed to including but not limited to contaminants, industrial cleaning chemicals, and dust and dirt.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Hours of Work</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>The hours of work for this position will vary depending on operational requirements but will include early morning, evening and late night, as well as weekends and holidays.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Red Deer Resort &amp; Casino is an equal opportunity employer and encourages individuals interested in this position to submit your resume.
