The St. James Hotel is an iconic, boutique hotel providing modern conveniences, yet steeped in rich history and Victorian charm. The Hotel offers luxurious amenities and culinary delights delivered by remarkable hospitality professionals.
The targeted hiring range for this position is $12.26 - $15.96 per hour depending on qualifications; however, the expanded salary range provides opportunities for advancement. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and job location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, competencies, experience, and relevant education, training or a combination of these things and market demand. More information about the specific salary range and benefits for your location will be discussed during the hiring process.

We’re looking for engaging team members and we are willing to train people with great attitude and professional style.
Work 20-40 hours per week during the summer over a combination of days afternoons/evenings and weekends.
Extend your availability to work part-time up to 20 hours per week during May, September and October too and we’ll do our best to accommodate your desired work schedule as long as you have availability to work evenings and weekends.
Room attendant promotes a positive image of the property to guests by maintaining cleanliness by presenting as pleasant, honest, and friendly to ensure high standard of guest service and satisfaction.
· Clean guest rooms and public areas including windows, doors, walls, floors, closets, fixtures, bathrooms and furniture by following the standard operating procedures.
· Maintain cleaning cart and supplies.
· Replenish guest rooms and baths with amenities, supplies, and linen.
· Inspect rooms for repairs or fixtures that are not working properly; replace batteries, light bulbs, etc. Report requests for repairs to supervisor or maintenance department.
· Remove trash, dirty linens, and room service items.
· Vacuum carpets and floor care duties.
· Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
· Respond to guest requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.
· Perform rotation cleaning duties (e.g. steam clean carpets, spring cleaning, super cleaning etc.) as required
· Enhance the property’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Six to twelve months related experience/training.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
