Description

About ELITS ELITS Canada Inc. is Part of Accelerate, within the IVER Group in Sweden. IVER Group has approximately 1,300 employees and continues to grow. As Part of Accelerate, you will work at the forefront of technology on exciting digitization and transformation projects with market‑leading customers. We are passionate about realizing digital opportunities in the cloud and, together with our customers, closing the gap between aspiration and successful implementation. Communication is an essential part of the work since we collaborate closely with our customers. As an employee at ELITS, you will become part of a great team that responds with humility and takes pride in what we deliver. About the position As a Senior Data Engineer, you will own the technical foundation of our Data Hub platform in Microsoft Fabric. You will work closely with the Digital Lead and Data Analyst to design and build a medallion architecture that transforms raw data into trusted, business‑ready data products for technical product teams, using Bronze, Silver and Gold layers in a Fabric lakehouse. This is a hands‑on senior role for someone who can define interfaces between the Data Hub and dependent teams, operate pipelines in production, and communicate trade‑offs clearly in a small, autonomous environment. This position is remote within Canada, with a preference for candidates based in Eastern Canada to support smoother collaboration and working‑hour overlap with colleagues in Sweden. Your main responsibilities       • Design, build and own the Bronze → Silver → Gold lakehouse architecture in Microsoft Fabric, following medallion design principles for progressive refinement of data.       • Develop robust, idempotent data pipelines with data quality checks and validation at each tier boundary.       • Define and maintain data products, data models, ownership boundaries, SLAs and documentation for the Data Hub platform.       • Work with architects and stakeholders to define and follow data architecture standards across the platform.       • Ensure data accuracy, completeness and consistency across data sources, transformation layers and consumer interfaces.       • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve data‑related issues in pipelines, schemas, transformations and downstream consumption.       • Collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Data Analysts and business units to understand data requirements and deliver fit‑for‑purpose data products.       • Provide technical guidance and support on data‑related topics across teams.       • Document data flows, schemas, transformations, pipelines and operational processes to support maintainability and team scalability. Requirements       • Senior‑level profile with proven hands‑on delivery experience in data engineering and technical ownership of production data platforms.       • Able to work independently and take technical ownership.       • Strong communication skills and experience working in cross‑functional teams.       • Deep experience with PySpark, Spark SQL and Delta Lake, including partitioning strategy, MERGE patterns, and batch versus streaming trade‑offs.       • Production experience with Microsoft Fabric or Azure Databricks.       • Hands‑on experience with Azure data platforms, including Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, and active development experience in Databricks for pipelines and optimization.       • Strong understanding of event‑driven patterns for data ingestion; experience with Azure Event Hubs is a strong plus.       • Solid understanding of data modelling and database design for analytics and business consumption.       • Experience with version control and CI/CD practices using GitHub Actions, which is commonly used for Azure and Fabric‑related deployment workflows.       • Good knowledge of Azure cloud services and data platform services.       • Ability to think in terms of data products and domain ownership, and to define clear interfaces between platform teams and consuming teams.       • Strong operational mindset for running and supporting pipelines in production. Nice to have       • Experience with real‑time ingestion and event streaming using Azure Event Hubs.       • Experience designing lakehouse patterns and semantic consumption layers in Microsoft Fabric.       • Experience optimizing Spark workloads for performance and cost on Azure platforms.       • Exposure to CI/CD patterns for Fabric or Azure data platforms through GitHub‑based deployment workflows. Qualities At ELITS Canada, great people create great impact. Success in this role comes from curiosity, ownership and a passion for building practical, scalable solutions. You are someone who:       • Thrives in a collaborative, cross‑functional team and communicates with clarity and confidence.       • Balances strong technical depth with pragmatic, solution‑oriented decision making.       • Takes initiative, works independently and is comfortable owning technical outcomes.       • Brings structure and discipline to documentation, standards and operational excellence.       • Contributes to a culture of trust, learning and continuous improvement. This position is open to Canadian residents and individuals with a valid work permit in Canada. ELITS – Part of Accelerate – IVER Group
