    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The faculty will be responsible for educational leadership and student instruction on a part-time basis in Surgical Technology courses. This role will teach theory and lab courses in alignment with the Core Curriculum for Surgical Technology.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Associate's Degree Graduate of an associate-degree Surgical Technology program accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency. Required</li>\n <li>Bachelor's Degree In a health related or educational discipline. Preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA). Required</li>\n <li>Must be certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) through the American Heart Association (AHA) at the Basic Life Support (BLS) level. Required</li>\n <li>Valid and in State Driver's License. Required</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>EXPERIENCE</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Two (2) years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past five years. Required</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>ABILITIES AND SKILLS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with students, staff, and the public. Required</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<li>Instruct, supervise, and evaluate students in the courses (classroom and laboratory setting) of the Surgical Technology program.</li>\n<li>Assist with curriculum review and revision.</li>\n<li>Maintain accurate written records on Student performance.</li>\n<li>Maintain communications with program and school administrators, as appropriate.</li>\n<li>Monitor and alert program administration of needed supplies, materials, instrumentation, equipment, and maintenance as appropriate.</li>\n<li>Maintain office hours according to contractual guidelines.</li>\n<li>Assist program faculty and administrators with laboratory development, coordination, and maintenance.</li>\n<li>Attend Department meetings as requested.</li>\n<li>Complete course-level assessments at the conclusion of each semester.</li>\n<li>Ensure that all course policies and protocols are aligned with program and college policies.</li>\n<li>Model professional behavior and mentor students toward success.</li>\n<li>Perform other appropriate job-related duties as assigned by the Director.</li>\n<h2>Physical Standards and Special Job Features</h2>Standing or walking for extended periods of time. Physical positioning of surgical mannequins. Fine motor/manual dexterity and visual acuity. Lifting not to exceed 50 lbs. Proof of tetanus immunization within 10 years.\n<h2>Pay Transparency</h2>The part-time rate for 2026/27 will be the greater of $1180 per credit or $787 per contact hour, prorated for student enrollment under seven. The approved substitute pay rate is $49.17 per hour during the first week of substituting and the prorated part-time teacher rate for consecutive substitute assignments that exceed one week.\n<h2>College Statement</h2>This is not a complete itemization of all facets of this position.
