The ideal candidate will be well-versed in structural concrete design, shallow foundations, and non-building steel structures, and will be comfortable taking projects from concept through construction. This includes preparation of calculations, reports, specifications, checking of drawings and field trips to the site.  Work will need to be completed in accordance with NNSS procedures and Department of Energy (DOE) requirements. </p><p><strong><u>Key Responsibilities</u></strong></p><ul><li>Perform structural analysis and design of reinforced concrete and structural steel systems for non-building applications.</li><li>Design and detail concrete foundations, retaining systems, tanks, pits, and specialty industrial structures.</li><li>Prepare engineering calculations, construction drawings, and technical specifications.</li><li>Review and sign drawings, calculations, and design documents as the responsible engineer of record.</li><li>Collaborate with multi discipline engineers, and contractors to ensure constructability and compliance with project requirements.</li><li>Conduct field inspections, site assessments, and provide engineering support during construction.</li><li>Ensure all work complies with applicable codes and standards (IBC, ACI, AISC, ASCE, etc.).</li><li>Devise solutions to highly complex technical problems of broad scope.
