Description

The Director of Sales is responsible for overseeing the sales and marketing efforts of a group of companies within a specific geographic region. This includes developing and implementing strategies to increase occupancy and revenue, managing budgets, and forecasting, and building and maintaining relationships with key clients and partners for Hotel Blackhawk and The Current Iowa. Education and Experience Required: 5+ years of relevant professional experience in corporate and leisure sales with the most recent experience in corporate sales, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance. Dual Property Support. Previous experience as a member of a senior executive / regional team and assignments in both line and staff sales roles. Experience leading and managing large-scale initiatives and managing associated change. Proven track record of leading a large corporate and leisure sales organization. Demonstrated ability to translate brand strategies and positioning into actionable sales activities that compel corporate & leisure buyers driving purchase behaviors. Experience leading B2B marketing approaches in the luxury category. Lodging industry experience in the luxury/premium segment. Education and Experience Preferred: Marriott Experience Full – Service Hotel Sales Experience . 4-year degree from an accredited college or university Exposure to operations and work experience globally Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute sales and marketing plans to increase revenue and occupancy at the companies within their region Identify new business opportunities and develop relationships with potential clients Manage budgets and forecasting for the sales and marketing team Provide leadership and support to the sales and marketing team, including setting goals and objectives, and monitoring and evaluating performance Collaborate with other departments, such as revenue management, to ensure the most effective sales and marketing strategies are in place Attend industry events and tradeshows to network and stay up to date on industry trends and developments Analyze market trends and competitor activity to inform sales and marketing strategy Maintain and update the company’s website and social media presence Provide regular reports on sales and marketing performance to upper management Management Competencies Leadership: The ability to inspire and guide a team towards the achievement of common goals.
