The person will also contribute across the broader SAP ecosystem. </span>The primary responsibility is to build, enhance, and maintain the <strong>Applicant Portal</strong> and <strong>Reviewer Portal</strong>, while also contributing to adjacent Drupal-based systems and the broader SAP ecosystem. </p><h2>Key Responsibilities</h2><p><strong>Frontend Responsibilities</strong></p><p>• Build and maintain the Applicant Portal, Reviewer Portal, Metadata Manager Portal, and Administrator Portal front end components<br>• Implement a user centered UI aligned with NSF’s design standards and consistent with USWDS patterns where used<br>• Ensure complete Section 508 compliance including keyboard navigation, semantic structure, ARIA patterns, and screen reader compatibility<br>• Implement role-based access control in the UI so users see only the data and actions appropriate for their role<br>• Work closely with UX, product, and NSF teams to implement wireframes and requirements accurately</p><p><strong>Backend Responsibilities</strong></p><p>• Build and maintain Drupal backend logic including custom modules, hooks, forms, and custom Form API implementations<br>• Implement workflows for application intake, review processes, scoring, metadata validations, and program configuration<br>• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and integration points<br>• Support metadata ingestion pipelines and validation rules<br>• Implement user and role management consistent with RBAC requirements<br>• Collaborate with database engineers on data modeling, queries, and performance tuning<br>• Contribute to monitoring, logging, and error handling to support production stability</p><p><strong>General Software Engineering Responsibilities</strong></p><p>• Perform end to end analysis, design, and development<br>• Code, debug, test, and troubleshoot during the full development lifecycle<br>• Conduct and participate in peer code reviews<br>• Participate in UI and UX discussions and provide engineering input<br>• Mentor and support junior engineers as needed</p><p style=\"min-height: 1.7em;\"></p>",
