Camp Lifeguards are required to assist the Camp Director, other Lifeguards, and Camp Counselors with additional tasks and daily camp operations. &nbsp;Camp Lifeguards must be available to lead, assist, and/or participate in all camp activities which include, but are not limited to swimming, hiking, kayaking, outdoor sports, craft activities, camp set-up, take-down, and cleaning. &nbsp;Camp Lifeguards are to comply with all BGCNF, BGCA, MCDP, and ARC safety standards and safe operations, and the guidance, direction, and instructions of the &nbsp;Camp Director.&nbsp;<br><strong><br>&nbsp;Requirements:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Must possess appropriate and current Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid &amp; AED certifications.</li><li>Must adhere to and perform according to the standards of lifeguard certification, camp rules and operations, and the leadership of The Camp Director.</li><li>Must be respected by, and respectful of others. &nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Maintain composure in stressful situations, multitask, make quick decisions, troubleshoot problems, and adapt to changes in a fast-paced work environment.</li><li>Must be able to understand and enforce safety policies.</li><li>Must be able to identify, respond to, and extract a distressed individual.</li><li>Must be able to communicate effectively with ambassadors, guests, and leadership.</li><li>Must be able to work in/around water for entire shifts.</li><li>Must be comfortable with heights and diving into water from heights of up to 12 feet.</li><li>Must be able to dive to depths of 15- 20 feet.</li><li>Must be able to repetitively climb on ladders, uneven surfaces, or towers.</li><li>Must be able to lift to 50 pounds.</li><li>Must be able to push/pull up to 100 pounds with assistance.</li><li>Must be able to stand for an entire shift, often on uneven surfaces.</li><li>Must be able to bend, reach, twist, and turn with complete flexibility.</li><li>Must be able to work in a team environment.</li><li>Must be able to walk/run in sand.</li><li>Must be able to work in all weather conditions.</li><li>Must be available to work varying shifts/hours and duties based on camp needs.</li><li>Valid identification and employment authorization documents to complete Form I-9</li><li>Experience working with youth is a plus.</li><li>Transportation may be provided.</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong><strong>Additional Responsibilities&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>General supervision and safety of campers</li><li>Lead and participate in various camp programs and activities</li><li>Daily camp set-up, take-down, maintenance, and cleaning of MCDP facilities and camp equipment</li><li>Attend relevant staff meetings and training events</li><li>May participate in additional special programs and/or events</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li><li>Responsible, respectful, and on time</li><li>Mature and organized</li><li>Fun, energetic, and competitive</li><li>Experience working with children or a passion to help children reach their potential</li><li>Experience or interest in kayaking, archery, biking, nature, outdoor sports and additional adventure activities</li><li>Ability to relate to diverse groups of people from all social and economic backgrounds</li><li>Quick-thinking, adaptable, pro-active leadership skills and abilities</li><li>Ability to pass DCF Level II background screening and drug test</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications.
