    "description": "<h2>Job Description</h2>\n<p>The Support Services Manager, Supply Chain reports to the Director, Supply Chain and is responsible for leading a team of ~30 buyers and material coordinators to procure and manage general material in support of BIW’s services business with ~8 Direct Reports.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Safety Leadership:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensure zero recordable injuries in supply chain</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Project Execution:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Identify and implement projects that result in Waste Reductions </li>\n <li>Responsible for material estimate proposal development</li>\n <li>Responsible for procurement of all Planning Yard material and meeting schedule requirements of the Navy Customer</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Management:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Oversee the kitting and delivery of material (both Fabricated in house or purchased) </li>\n <li>Report Supply Chain activity performance and give formal presentations of material status and forecasts to the Navy Customer</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Training and Development:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Facilitate Development Conversations for all direct reports at least on a quarterly basis identifying what they are doing well and areas of opportunity at their level or the level above as a potential promotion candidate</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Team Collaboration and Communication:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Interface with BIW Design, Engineering, Program Office, Estimating, Contracts, Planning and Manufacturing </li>\n <li>Collaborate cross functionally to identify process gaps that are impacting downstream / upstream organizations and recommend a set of solutions </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Continuous Improvement:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Encourage / Drive the team to recommend process improvement initiatives that can reduce waste </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required/Preferred Education/Training</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree, preferably in supply chain or business management, or at least 7 years of supply chain business experience required; defense industry experience preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required/Preferred Experience</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>3+ years of Supervisory / Managerial experience required.</li>\n <li>Proven ability to develop, lead, and motivate people.</li>\n <li>Proven team-building skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other functions.</li>\n <li>Proven ability to lead complex projects.</li>\n <li>Superior understanding of supply chain function.</li>\n <li>Proven ability to manage complex projects.</li>\n <li>Excellent oral and written communications skills.</li>\n</ul>",
