As a trusted employee, you will have access to firm-wide performance insights and opportunities to influence our strategic direction through internal initiatives. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This is a new position and can be based at any one of our following offices: <strong>Halifax, NS, St. John's, NL.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We offer flexible work hours and hybrid work arrangement options to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Technical Development</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Manage and coordinate programs, projects and technical studies for the natural environment component of a variety of projects</li>\n <li>Lead permitting and approvals acquisition activities at the local, provincial and federal level related to natural heritage (e.g., <em>Endangered Species Act, Species at Risk Act, Conservation Authorities Act</em>, <em>Fisheries Act</em>, <em>Canadian Environmental Assessment Act</em>)</li>\n <li>Scope, plan, develop, and implement field programs</li>\n <li>Provide oversight to project team members including natural scientists, technologists and technical support staff</li>\n <li>Coordination of multi-disciplinary projects</li>\n <li>Support stakeholder and regulator engagement</li>\n <li>Business travel upon request</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Business Development</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Prepare and support the preparation of project proposals and contribute to client relationships and business development activities</li>\n <li>Liaise with public and private sector clients, government review and approval agencies, sub-consultants and community representatives</li>\n <li>Undertake travel, as required</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Learning & Development</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>A commitment to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development</li>\n <li>Input to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring</li>\n <li>Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>An undergraduate degree in biology, ecology or a related environmental sciences field.</li>\n <li>A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated professional experience in environmental consulting, industrial, regulatory, or academic settings, or related fields, with a specific emphasis on environmental assessment and permitting for development proposals.</li>\n <li>Valid driver’s license (Class 5).</li>\n <li>Excellent communication and report writing skills.</li>\n <li>Excellent oral and written communication, critical thinking, organizational and interpersonal skills.</li>\n <li>Proficiency in English.
