This role will be Full-Time Saturday 8:00 am-8:30pm, Sunday 8:00 am -10:00 pm and Monday 9:00 am-9:30 pm. Adheres to department policies and protocols by ensuring all examinations are optimized for interpretation. Confidently operates radiological equipment in all care settings (i.e. fluoroscopy, trauma, Emergency department and the Operating Room). Demonstrates the effective use of radiation protection procedures with collimation devices and protective shielding. Operates Imaging and other related equipment according to manufacturers' specifications. Demonstrates proper technique for injection of IV contrast under the American College of Radiology guidelines.</li><li>Assists in teaching radiography students sound radiography principles.</li><li>Communicates effectively with patients to obtain clinical history and informed consent from patients' and/or patients' charts to assist physicians in optimizing the performance and interpretation of examinations. Explains procedures to patients/families and answers any questions to ease anxiety and assure patient cooperation. Correctly identifies patients and their files while ensuring a high degree of accuracy. Tracks patients according to department procedures.</li><li>Assists physicians in performing a variety of examinations by using standard department protocols, isolation precautions, and/or sterile techniques.</li><li>Recognizes clinical and/or emergent problems that may interfere with exams and takes appropriate action to resolve them and produce the most desirable outcomes.</li></ul><p><strong>Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) Additional Requirements:</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li><strong>Education:&nbsp;</strong>Graduate of accredited school/program of radiography</li><li><strong>Licensure:</strong>&nbsp;Licensed Radiologic Technologist Upon Start Must be licensed as required by the state of employment if employed at an Inova Health System free-standing Imaging Center not affiliated with an Inova hospital.</li><li><strong>Certification:</strong>&nbsp;American Registered Radiologic Technologists within 12 months of hire; Basic Life Support upon start.</li><li><strong>Experience</strong>: Two years of combined classroom and clinical training in radiology. Recent experience in a hospital/healthcare environment as a Radiologic Technologist or student.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p>",
