In addition to architecture and delivery leadership, this role is expected to serve as a thought leader—helping shape enterprise direction, influence strategy, and represent best practices in modern storage, automation, and operational excellence.</p>\n<p><strong>Primary Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Own and evolve enterprise storage architecture standards, design guidelines, and SDS reference architectures.</li>\n <li>Design scalable block, file, and object storage solutions for enterprise workloads across hybrid environments.</li>\n <li>Serve as a design authority in SDS architecture and design reviews, ensuring consistency, reuse, and long-term sustainability.</li>\n <li>Drive automation-by-default and IaC-first delivery of storage provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management.</li>\n <li>Define standard observability patterns for storage platforms including metrics, logging, alerting, dashboards, and runbooks.</li>\n <li>Architect data protection, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions aligned with business resiliency objectives.</li>\n <li>Leverage AI-assisted tools for anomaly detection, root cause analysis, capacity forecasting, and operational efficiency.</li>\n <li>Partner with compute, networking, security, OS, and container platform teams to ensure integrated enterprise solutions.</li>\n <li>Produce high-quality documentation including standards, reference architectures, and operational guidance.</li>\n <li>Provide L3/L4 engineering support for complex production issues, focusing on permanent remediation.</li>\n <li>Act as a recognized subject-matter expert and thought leader for enterprise storage within SDS and partner organizations.</li>\n <li>Contribute to enterprise storage strategy, modernization roadmaps, and long-term platform evolution.</li>\n <li>Research emerging storage technologies, industry trends, and best practices, assessing applicability to the enterprise.</li>\n <li>Represent SDS in architecture forums, governance bodies, vendor briefings, and technical communities of practice.</li>\n <li>Author and socialize whitepapers, recommendations, and design position statements to guide decision-making.</li>\n <li>Mentor engineers and architects, raising overall storage, automation, and observability maturity across teams.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum of 8 years of related experience</li>\n <li>Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Talents Needed for Success:&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>8+ years of experience designing and engineering large-scale enterprise storage environments (non-mainframe).</li>\n <li>Strong expertise in block, file, and object storage platforms in on‑premises and cloud environments.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience influencing architecture standards and enterprise-wide technical direction.</li>\n <li>Experience with infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of observability concepts including metrics, telemetry, and alerting.</li>\n <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills suitable for executive, architecture, and governance forums.</li>\n <li>Experience treating storage as a programmable platform or service.</li>\n <li>Experience integrating enterprise storage with containerized and cloud-native workloads.</li>\n <li>Exposure to AI/ML-assisted operational or AIOps-style tooling.</li>\n <li>Relevant vendor, SNIA, or cloud architecture certifications.</li>\n <li>History of publishing, presenting, or leading technical initiatives across organizations.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><i>The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
