Description Position Title: Behavioral Health Clinician (Addictions Clinician) Department: Behavioral Health Supervisor: Manager of Behavioral Health Status / Hours per week: Exempt/ 40 hours Salary Range: The expected base salary for the position is $67,000-$112,000 per year (commensurate with experience, licensure, etc.). Primary Function: The Addictions Clinician integrates trauma informed addictions services within the addictions chronic disease model of care at UCC. The Addictions Clinician provides supportive wrap-around substance abuse services and ancillary care to maintain recovery and relapse prevention goals, establish outreach and case management resources, promote healthy living and enhance counseling services in the Behavioral Health department. Duties & Responsibilities: • Perform intake screening, assessment, and triage for appropriateness for detoxification, all levels of care, referrals, dual diagnoses, and follow-up. • Complete comprehensive intake evaluations and treatment plans adhering to the Behavioral Health department policies on BH Referral Intake Process, as well as, Behavioral Health Documentation and Record Keeping. • Provide behavioral health treatment for addictions and dual diagnosis to individuals, families, and groups. • Provide addictions outreach, education, and harm reduction and/or abstinence case management for Addiction Services clients that meet the criteria for relapse prevention level of care. • Provide addictions resources, linkages to services both in-house and externally to UCC clients referred for services. • Serve as liaison between Addiction Services in Behavioral Health and the UCC Primary Care department by supplying UCC teams with resources, information and collaboration on care for patients with addiction disorders and the sequel associated with these disorders. • Make referrals, as indicated, to other UCC departments as well as to collateral agencies. • Provide consultation and collaboration with collateral agencies. • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure the delivery of services fits within the UCC Medical Home model of care. • Attend multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and Utilization Reviews, including Quality assurance projects within the department. • Complete all appropriate paperwork and documentation in compliance and in a timely manner within Behavioral Health department policy and procedures, including the use of the EHR and ICD 10 / DSM 5 coding. • Participate in addictions services and other behavioral health program trainings, in-house presentations and community activities as needed. • Participate in Primary Care and Behavioral Health integration efforts as needed. • Perform additional duties of the Behavioral Health department as needed. • Maintain flexibility to work evenings at least 1-2x a week. Qualifications Minimum Basic Knowledge: • Knowledge of trauma focused addictions treatment modalities. • Understanding of motivational interviewing. • Knowledge in the disease Model of Addictions. Experience & Qualifications: • Master's in Social Work with current LCSW or LICSW licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts preferred (or LCSW within 6 months of employment start); or LMHC licensure. • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a community-oriented setting. • Prior academic and/or professional training in trauma informed care and outpatient addictions services. • Experience with and commitment to interdisciplinary care. Strong ability to work well in a collaborative team environment. • Strong knowledge of Office 365 or Microsoft Office programs. • Bilingual language skills in English, plus Spanish or Cape Verdean Creole is helpful. • Desire to work in a community health care setting with a target population impacted by trauma. • Current CPR/BLS Certificate required. Essential Functions: • Conduct therapeutic sessions, lasting 30, 45 or 55 minutes. • Document in the electronic medical record. • Consult and crisis manage, able to assess risk; plus knowledge of Section 12. • Knowledge of confidentiality, and adherence to HIPPA guidelines and regulations. • Compliance with BSAS regulations. Physical Requirements: • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. • Move and/or traverse. • Rarely move items weighing up to 20 pounds across office for various needs. • Able to prioritize workload. • Perform with interruptions. • Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Supervisory Responsibility: None Define Access Level to PHI: Level 4: Authorized to access full health information. UCC position and job responsibilities involve the provision of patient care and working as a clinical team member. Staff in this category level, although allowed full access, should only access the necessary information for each respective treatment encounter/circumstance.
