You will protect and promote the interests of both Gilbane and the client in all matters as well as demonstrating the personal characteristics of a developing leader. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Confers with a broad range of technical, professional and managerial personnel as well as designers, consultants and contractors to coordinate and establish detailed construction cost estimates </p></li>\n <li><p>Ensures the preparation of detailed cost estimates for all phases of design and construction </p></li>\n <li>Supervises the development of quantity surveys and cost evaluations relating to design documents, contract drawings, specifications or contract changes </li>\n <li><p>Reviews and reports on contract estimates prepared by private consultants and recommends if estimate is appropriate for implementation </p></li>\n <li><p>Participates in cost negotiations </p></li>\n <li><p>Plans, assigns, and reviews the cost estimating work </p></li>\n <li>Performs related tasks </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental Services or a related field </p></li>\n <li><p>5 years full time, technical experience in estimating areas of architecture, electrical, mechanical or plumbing and 3 years in any combination of construction related areas  </p></li>\n <li><p>Or equivalent combination of education and experience </p></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Proficient in Microsoft Office programs  </p></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Ability to obtain and scope trade contractor budget proposals  </p></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Understanding of Contract Document and Specifications  </p></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Strong written and verbal skills  </p></li>\n <li><p>Ability to work in a team-based environment  </p></li>\n</ul>\n<p>Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.</p>\n<p>For (New York) this ranges from $90,000-$128,000 plus benefits and retirement program.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Gilbane offers an excellent total compensation package which includes competitive health and welfare benefits and a generous profit-sharing/401k plan.
