You will have the flexibility to work from your home while collaborating with colleagues and partners across the country and around the world.<br><br>We are hiring for two Development Officer, Planned Giving positions, each aligned to a distinct geographic region, the South or Midwest. In this role, you will build and manage donor relationships within your assigned territory and support engagement across regional donor communities.<br><br>This role requires approximately 40 percent domestic travel, including visits to the Atlanta headquarters as well as attendance at conferences and networking events.<br><br><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><br><br>*Build and manage a portfolio of planned giving prospects, developing meaningful relationships that lead to long term commitments<br>*Identify, cultivate, and solicit planned gifts, including legacy and life income gifts<br>*Engage donors through personalized outreach including virtual and in person meetings<br>*Collaborate with major gifts teams and local Habitat offices to align strategies and strengthen donor engagement<br>*Develop and execute donor strategies, including proposals, presentations, and stewardship plans<br>*Respond to inquiries and guide donors through planned giving opportunities with care and clarity<br>*Track activity, maintain accurate records, and provide pipeline updates and revenue forecasts<br><br><strong>Must Have Qualifications</strong><br><br>*Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience<br>*3+ years of experience identifying, cultivating, and closing planned gifts<br>*Proven success securing six figure or higher planned gift commitments, including life income gifts<br>*Strong communication and relationship building skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences<br>*Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage multiple priorities<br>*A passion for Habitat’s mission and the ability to inspire others to support it<br><br><strong>Nice to Have</strong><br><br>*5 or more years of experience in fundraising or planned giving<br>*Experience using tools such as PG Calc, Blackbaud, or similar donor systems<br>*Certification in estate planning, financial planning, or gift planning<br><br><strong>Culture and Values</strong><br><br>At Habitat for Humanity International, you join a community that believes in:<br><strong>*Humility:</strong>&nbsp;We are part of something bigger than ourselves<br><strong>*Courage:&nbsp;</strong>We do what is right, even when it is difficult<br><strong>*Accountability:&nbsp;</strong>We take personal responsibility for Habitat’s mission<br><strong>*Safeguarding:&nbsp;</strong>We protect the rights, dignity, and safety of all people we serve and work alongside<br><br><strong>Compensation and Benefits</strong><br><br>The actual salary offered for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including location, internal equity and the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience. HFHI offers a competitive, comprehensive benefits package that varies by country and typically includes vacation leave, sick leave, personal days, health insurance options, retirement plan contributions and life insurance.
