Maintenance Electrician | Now Hiring | Fresno, CA
Compensation:
Starting pay rate: $36.64 – $37.94 per hour
Eligible for annual and skill-based wage increases
Shift Available:
This position may be assigned to any of the plant’s three non-rotating shifts based on operational needs.

Job Summary: The Electrical Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and installing electrical and mechanical systems on production and facility support equipment within a polystyrene tray manufacturing environment. This position plays a critical role in supporting safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations across all production areas and utility systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems on manufacturing and facility support equipment.
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime and improve operational reliability.
Diagnose equipment failures using electrical schematics, manuals, meters, and diagnostic tools.
Install, replace, and repair motors, drives, sensors, relays, switches, control components, and other industrial electrical equipment.
Support production equipment including:
NRM foam extruders
Irwin Thermoformers
Rennco packaging equipment
Waldrop Padders
Maintain and repair facility support equipment including air compressors, pumps, hydraulic systems, cooling tower water systems, and other plant utilities.
Troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems and perform basic programming modifications when required.
Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and electrical safety standards.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
Work closely with production personnel to resolve equipment issues and improve machine reliability.
Complete maintenance work orders and maintain accurate repair documentation.
Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain housekeeping and organization standards in maintenance and production areas.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
Minimum of three years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Strong industrial electrical troubleshooting skills.
Experience with PLCs, VFDs, motors, sensors, and industrial control systems preferred.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Experience with extrusion and thermoforming equipment is a plus.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, moving equipment, and industrial chemicals.
Knowledge of industrial automation systems.
Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
Experience using CMMS maintenance systems preferred.
Understanding of OSHA and NFPA electrical safety standards.
Work Environment and Conditions
Indoor industrial manufacturing environment with elevated temperatures and humidity during summer months.
Hearing protection is required on the production floor due to machinery noise levels.
ASTM F2413-05 compliant safety footwear (steel toe or equivalent) must be worn at all times.
Required PPE includes bump caps, hair nets, beard nets, and other safety equipment as required.
Hair and facial hair grooming must comply with food safety standards for proper use of hair and beard nets.
Physical Demands
The employee must be able to:
Stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, twist, climb stairs and ladders, and use both hands continuously throughout the shift.
Push or pull up to 30–50 pounds.
Frequently kneel, crawl, bend, climb stairs, carry up to 30 pounds, and perform high and low reaching activities.

This position plays a critical role in supporting safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations across all production areas and utility systems.\r\n \r\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\r\n- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems on manufacturing and facility support equipment.\r\n- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime and improve operational reliability.\r\n- Diagnose equipment failures using electrical schematics, manuals, meters, and diagnostic tools.\r\n- Install, replace, and repair motors, drives, sensors, relays, switches, control components, and other industrial electrical equipment.\r\n- Support production equipment including:\r\n- NRM foam extruders\r\n- Irwin Thermoformers\r\n- Rennco packaging equipment\r\n- Waldrop Padders\r\n- Maintain and repair facility support equipment including air compressors, pumps, hydraulic systems, cooling tower water systems, and other plant utilities.\r\n- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems and perform basic programming modifications when required.\r\n- Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and electrical safety standards.\r\n- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.\r\n- Work closely with production personnel to resolve equipment issues and improve machine reliability.\r\n- Complete maintenance work orders and maintain accurate repair documentation.\r\n- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.\r\n- Maintain housekeeping and organization standards in maintenance and production areas.\r\nQualifications:\r\n- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.\r\n- Minimum of three years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.\r\n- Strong industrial electrical troubleshooting skills.\r\n- Experience with PLCs, VFDs, motors, sensors, and industrial control systems preferred.\r\n- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.\r\n- Experience with extrusion and thermoforming equipment is a plus.\r\n- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.\r\n- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.\r\n- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.\r\nPhysical Requirements\r\n- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.\r\n- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.\r\n- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, moving equipment, and industrial chemicals.\r\n- Knowledge of industrial automation systems.\r\n- Welding and fabrication experience preferred.\r\n- Experience using CMMS maintenance systems preferred.\r\n- Understanding of OSHA and NFPA electrical safety standards.\r\nWork Environment and Conditions\r\n- Indoor industrial manufacturing environment with elevated temperatures and humidity during summer months.\r\n- Hearing protection is required on the production floor due to machinery noise levels.\r\n- ASTM F2413-05 compliant safety footwear (steel toe or equivalent) must be worn at all times.\r\n- Required PPE includes bump caps, hair nets, beard nets, and other safety equipment as required.\r\n- Hair and facial hair grooming must comply with food safety standards for proper use of hair and beard nets.\r\nPhysical Demands\r\nThe employee must be able to:\r\n- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, twist, climb stairs and ladders, and use both hands continuously throughout the shift.\r\n- Push or pull up to 30–50 pounds.\r\n- Frequently kneel, crawl, bend, climb stairs, carry up to 30 pounds, and perform high and low reaching activities.\r\n- Repeatedly use wrists, hands, fingers, shoulders, elbows, hips, ankles, head, and neck throughout the workday.\r\n#INDFGR",
