Description

Overview Cordoba is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager (SCM) to lead El Camino College projects. Serving as a key representative for our team and a primary point of contact for our client. This role requires a confident, client‑facing professional with exceptional communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders in a dynamic project environment. Experience in educational facility construction, public works, DSA, and/or large commercial projects is required. Responsibilities Manages, oversees, and coordinates all facets of the pre-construction, bid and award, construction, and close-out phases of all assigned projects. Oversee day‑to‑day construction activities for various projects, ensuring alignment with district goals, timelines, and quality standards Serve as the primary liaison between the client, contractors, consultants, and internal teams Manage project schedules, budgets, and documentation with precision and accountability Lead coordination efforts across multiple disciplines, resolving issues proactively Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and DSA requirements Provide clear, consistent communication to stakeholders at all levels Monitor construction progress and implement corrective actions as needed Support procurement, contract administration, and change management processes Qualifications 10–15 years of construction management experience in similar education facilities, particularly in DSA jurisdiction Proven experience in: Athletic field construction Modular building installations Ground-up construction DSA experience is required Strong client‑facing presence with excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities Solid understanding of construction processes, scheduling, and project controls Preferred: Institutional/Higher Ed experience preferred but not required Experience working for an owner, CM firm, and/or general contractor on large construction projects of $20M+ is a plus Salary Range: $160,000 to $175,000 yearly Location: Torrance, CA Work Environment: Onsite Our Company Cordoba Corporation, Making a Difference Cordoba Corporation is a leading civil engineering, construction management, program management, and planning firm.
