If so, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for a skilled Coil Design Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering team based in Florham Park NJ. &nbsp;In this role, you will be responsible for Electromagnetic analysis, Coil design and Engineering calculations.</p><p><strong>In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:</strong></p><ul><li>Prepare engineering documentation including participation in design reviews</li><li>Conduct product and system level testing in an engineering laboratory while following safety practices and guidelines</li><li>Support production launch activities for solenoid based products</li><li>Contribute to cost reduction projects for existing series products</li><li>Collaborate with team members and cross-functional teams to meet and optimize product design requirements.</li><li>Communicate results clearly and coordinate with team members</li><li>Support and drive organizational initiatives</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Who You Are</strong></p><p>You will quickly and decisively take action to find the right solution, anticipate customer needs and provides services that are beyond customer expectations. Focusing on Innovation, Collaboration, Communication and self-development.</p><p><strong>For This Role, You Will Need:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, or a related field</li><li>Minimum of 5+ years of experience in magnetics design</li><li>Proficiency in finite element and magnetic analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS Maxwell)</li><li>Strong understanding of solenoid design, including pull force calculations, permanent magnet applications, sensors, and circuit simulations</li><li>Working knowledge of various magnetic materials and their properties</li><li>Experience in designing solenoid driver circuits</li><li>Basic understanding of power management and control schemes</li><li>Strong problem-solving abilities with a hands-on approach. Highly motivated with a willingness to learn and grow</li><li>Demonstrated experience building and assembling prototype solenoids for testing and validation</li><li>Strong written, verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:</strong></p><ul><li>Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Physics with</li><li>10+ years of relevant experience</li><li>Solenoid Valve experience with a strong understanding of reliability factors related to solenoids and coil design</li><li>Knowledge of solenoid manufacturing and automation processes</li><li>Experience of working in a global matrix engineering environment</li><li>Expertise in electromagnetic-mechanical systems, including electric motors and electric/magnetic damping technologies</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><div><p><strong>Our Culture &amp; Commitment to You​</strong></p><p>​At Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
