Building Automation Systems (BAS) Estimator Location:Lawrenceville, GA
$90,000 – $112,000 + Bonus + Full Benefits
A growing and well-established building automation and controls company is seeking an experienced Building Automation Systems (BAS) Estimator to join their team in Lawrenceville, GA. This is a direct hire opportunity offering long-term career growth, strong compensation, and a collaborative team environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience estimating BAS, HVAC controls, low-voltage, or electrical projects and possess strong technical knowledge of building automation systems, controls integration, and MEP drawings.
Schedule Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
40–50 hours per week
Benefits Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance PTO & Paid Holidays Retirement Plan Short & Long-Term Disability Performance Bonuses Career Growth Opportunities Responsibilities Review architectural, mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings, specifications, and bid documents to define project scope Perform quantity take-offs for controllers, field devices, conduit/cabling, and labor requirements Develop detailed cost estimates, Bills of Material (BOMs), and labor allocations using estimating software Coordinate vendor and subcontractor pricing for specialty controls and installation services Identify value-engineering opportunities to reduce project costs while maintaining system performance and specification compliance Prepare proposals, scope narratives, inclusions/exclusions, and pricing breakdowns Participate in bid reviews, project hand-off meetings, and customer discussions Maintain risk assessments for design gaps, long-lead items, integration complexity, and cybersecurity considerations Update historical pricing databases and labor productivity metrics based on completed projects Qualifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field preferred Experience estimating BAS, HVAC controls, electrical, or low-voltage systems Strong understanding of BAS platforms such as Niagara, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Schneider, Distech, or Alerton Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, controls diagrams, sequences of operation, and network risers Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, and IP-based control networks Proficiency with Excel and estimating software such as Accubid, Sage, Trimble, or similar Familiarity with RSMeans, NECA, or SMACNA labor units preferred OSHA-10 certification preferred or ability to obtain within 60 days Excellent communication and organizational skills This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated BAS professional looking to join a stable company with exciting projects and long-term advancement potential.
