Sound is one of King County’s most comprehensive providers of quality mental health and addiction treatment services, supporting our area’s most vulnerable populations. A central tenet of our work is Reaching Recovery, an evidence-based clinical care model. The Resident Specialist works with adult clients who have a chronic mental illness at Pacific Court Apartments. They support and provide direct therapeutic services. They also provide services to adults who require additional supervision in lieu of hospitalization; or to maintain success at home, in school or in social activities. The Resident Specialist provides on-site services at Pacific Court during their scheduled work hours. Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm Accepting Applications until June 5th, 2026. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for assisting therapist/case manager in assessment, development and implementing individual therapeutic and behavioral programs for consumers, i.e.: crisis intervention, individual and/or group treatment with team member supervision, co-supervision of clients in school or homes, socialization and recreational experiences, culturally relevant experiences, assistance in implement behavior modification programs, advocacy in treatment and support, assist in developing treatment plans, complete required paperwork, crisis stabilization Provide case management and clinical services to clients in coordination with therapist/case manager. Advocate for clients, coordinate and refer for services with other community agencies. Maintain working relationships with community and government agencies, other professionals, family members of clients and significant others. Complete all documentation in timely manner. Meet agency productivity standards. Participate in team meetings, individual supervision and assigned committees, as required. Participate in continuing education on an annual basis. Provide consultation/education services to other organizations as appropriate. Maintain ethical and competent client and peer relationships in the delivery of service. Relate to others in a professional manner, respectful of individual and cultural differences. Comply with all applicable federal, state and county laws and regulations, SMH policies and procedures and all safety regulations. Perform other duties as needed and/or assigned. Understand recovery concepts in behavioral health Apply recovery concepts, as appropriate to my work at Sound. Synthesize and demonstrate recovery concepts in my work at Sound. KEY WORK RELATIONSHIPS: Establishes and maintains positive, ethical, and professional working relationships with clinical team members, clients, clients' family, and outside organizations. Relates to a wide variety of people including members of ethnic and sexual minority populations, and is respectful of individual and cultural differences. Qualifications EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Related experience required. AA degree preferred, computer proficiency preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: It is essential that this person have an ability and desire to learn and work with: a wide range of emotional and behavioral problems in adults, the presenting problems of the entire family unit, effective communication with collateral agencies having contact with the consumer, and ethnic minority and low-income families as well as knowledge and awareness of cultural relevancy and issues. The complexity of multiple problems often presented necessitates an eclectic treatment model. The ability to understand family systems and to implement behavior management approaches is essential. A thorough knowledge of human development (cognitive, emotional, and physical) is recommended. Knowledge of cultural relevancy and experience working with low-income families as well as the ability to work well under supervision and on a team is required. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS: Must pass a criminal background check. Must have WA state driver's license and insurable driving record. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The team member frequently is required to stand and sit. The team member is occasionally required to walk. The team member must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds or more with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
