Maricopa Ambulance is seeking paramedics to serve our growing operations serving hospitals, medical facilities and communities in Maricopa County.
Now is the time to join the Valley's fastest-growing ambulance service ! Through new contracts and expansions, Maricopa Ambulance has g rown more by more than 30 percent in the first quarter of the year . We now provide 911 service to more than 710,000 residents in Maricopa County in the cities of Scottsdale, Glendale, Surprise and Goodyear, as well as provide interfacility transport to some of the area's largest health care providers.

The Paramedic provides advanced life support (ALS), emergency medical care, patient assessment, treatment, stabilization, and transportation services in accordance with Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) regulations, local medical protocols, state law, and company policies.
This position responds to emergency and non-emergency requests for service, including 911 emergency responses, interfacility transports, standby events, disaster response activities, and other medical transportation services. The Paramedic delivers patient-centered care while ensuring operational readiness, regulatory compliance, safety, and exceptional customer service.
This is a Non-exempt/Hourly position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions / Primary Responsibilities
Clinical Care
· Assess, treat, monitor, and transport patients requiring emergency and non-emergency medical care.
· Administering advanced life support interventions in accordance with Arizona scope of practice, medical protocols, and physician direction.
· Provide patient care at emergency scenes, healthcare facilities, public venues, private residences, and during transport.
· Maintain accurate and complete patient care documentation.
· Transfer patient care responsibility to receiving healthcare providers through verbal and written reports.
· Serve as team leader on ALS responses when appropriate.
Emergency Vehicle Operations
· Safely operate emergency and non-emergency vehicles in accordance with Arizona law, company policy, and emergency vehicle operation standards.
· Utilize defensive driving techniques and maintain awareness of roadway hazards.
· Maintain familiarity with service area geography, healthcare facilities, roadways, and community resources.
Equipment and Vehicle Readiness
· Conduct pre-shift and post-shift vehicle inspections.
· Inspect, clean, disinfect, restock, and maintain assigned vehicles and medical equipment.
· Report mechanical, safety, and equipment deficiencies promptly.
· Ensure medications and controlled substances are secured and accounted for.
Compliance and Documentation
· Complete electronic patient care reports and operational documentation accurately and timely.
· Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and all applicable privacy regulations.
· Adhere to infection control standards, exposure control plans, and universal precautions.
· Participate in quality improvement, compliance, and patient safety initiatives.
Professional Conduct
· Maintain professional appearance and demeanor.
· Interact respectfully with patients, families, healthcare professionals, public safety agencies, and community stakeholders.
· Participate in training, continuing education, and certification maintenance.
· Perform public relations, community outreach, and education activities as assigned.
Other Duties
· Participate in special event coverage, disaster response, mass casualty incidents, and emergency preparedness activities.
· Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Current Arizona Paramedic certification or eligibility for Arizona reciprocity.
· Current National Registry certification preferred.
· Current AHA BLS certification.
· Current AHA ACLS certification.
· Current Arizona driver's license or ability to obtain.
· Acceptable motor vehicle record consistent with company insurance requirements.
· Successful completion of background screening and drug testing.
Preferred Qualifications
· PALS certification.
· PHTLS, ITLS, or equivalent trauma certification.
· Incident Command System (ICS 100, 200, 700).
· Prior 911 and interfacility transport experience.
· Advanced patient assessment skills.
· Clinical decision-making and critical thinking.
· Effective verbal and written communication.
· Ability to remain calm during emergencies.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Knowledge of Arizona EMS regulations and protocols.
· Strong customer service and patient advocacy skills.
· Ability to operate technology, radios, tablets, and electronic patient care reporting systems.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
The employee frequently:
· Lifts, carries, pushes, and pulls patients and equipment.
· Moves patients weighing in excess of 150 pounds with assistance and appropriate equipment.
