The position of Operations Supervisor provides a platform to gain a working knowledge of various manufacturing environments and their relationships with other parts of Electric Boats business.  This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer or experienced trades-person to advance into a career-building leadership position and gain invaluable experience to support their career development. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Roles and Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Lead the activities of approximately 15 Pipewelders in the performance of Purging, welding and inspecting Pipe Joints on board submarines</li>\n <li>Primary point of contact to interface with Engineering, Ships Management, Quality and other trade departments</li>\n <li>Lead the team to achievement of company goals for Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule and Process Improvement</li>\n <li>Take ownership of team performance</li>\n <li>Assign work, provide technical expertise, instruction, mentor-ship, motivation and performance assessment of your Employee(s) while working aboard submarines under construction and repair</li>\n <li>Lead self-assessment audits, commit to schedules and maintain product quality</li>\n <li>Attend various administrative responsibility, such as LMS, Quality documentation, work completion documentation, etc</li>\n <li>May be required to qualify and maintain Nuclear Trade and PRCS training</li>\n <li>Must be willing to work all shifts and travel as required</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma or GED</li>\n</ul>\n<p><u>Must meet one of the following:</u></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum 1 year trade experience at electric boat</li>\n <li>Minimum of 3 year combined relevant experience and leadership experience in a high-volume setting</li>\n <li>Minimum of 1 year EB experience and an Engineering degree in a related field</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>BS in Engineering </li>\n <li>5+ years of relevant experience</li>\n <li>Knowledge of management tools (i.e., MRP, Artemis, EWP or other EB specific tools) </li>\n <li>Knowledge of Pipe Welding, particularly in welding with consumable inserts </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Skills</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to build a strong, cohesive team and drive them toward a high level of performance</li>\n <li>Ability to analyze performance data, formulate process improvement ideas and continuously improve performance</li>\n <li>Ability communication with all levels of workforce and management</li>\n <li>Good interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal skills</li>\n <li>Able to climb and work aboard submarines under construction or repair</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Unique Skills:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Ability to adapt to challenges while remaining clam in a constantly changing working environment, all while remaining compliant to technical and procedural constrains</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Core Competencies:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Safety, Communication, Building Trust, Directing Others, Managing Priorities, Listening, Production/Results, Pipe Welding, Perseverance, Technical Skills, Interpersonal Skills, Managing & Measuring Work, Stress Tolerance </p>\n<h2>Physical Qualifications</h2>Climbing, Color Vision, Crawling, Heavy Lifting, Kneeling, Light Lifting, Medium Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Stooping, Twisting\n<h2>Environmental Attributes</h2>Acids or Alkalis, Cold, Dry, Dusty, Fumes, Hot, Inside, Noise, Oily, Outside, Wet",
