Description

Overview Minco is a global provider of thermal solutions, temperature sensing and control solutions, and flex circuit solutions for medical, aerospace, defense, oil and gas, power generation, and other high-reliability applications. Our experienced team couples advanced product technologies, expert design and engineering services, and a deep understanding of our customers’ applications to provide comprehensive solutions that meet exacting requirements for quality, reliability, and performance. Job Summary: This position is responsible for setting up and operating the Machining Center equipment. The Machinist will also be responsible for selecting and retrieving tooling and inspection gauges from the tool crib that are specific to the job being set up, which is directed from reading and understanding blueprints for the fabrication of parts. Other responsibilities will include tube/ bar cutting, welding, assembly of shop parts, de-burring, and changing bar stock as needed on equipment, and taking and verifying measurements for each job. Attention to detail and willingness to learn other shop activities are key to success in this role. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Set up, program, and operate equipment, including mills, lathes, grinders, and shapers, selecting primary and secondary tools Adjust alignments and seating of holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials Apply mathematics, machinability of materials, and layout techniques Review specifications, drawings, and sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces Perform complex measuring, marking, and scribing dimensions Install machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and test the operation of the unit to ensure functionality and performance; at times, operate welding equipment to cut or weld parts Fit and assemble parts into a complete assembly that typically requires more complex testing and tolerance Communicate with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems Apply continuous improvement in work areas by identifying and recommending solutions to problems Ensure compliance with operating policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment and efficient operations Aid and train other staff in the department on processes, procedures, and machine understanding Other duties as assigned Qualifications Qualifications: Our current business environment requires that employees speak, read, and write English at an 8th-grade level or higher Applying machine shop theory and practices Reading blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and specifications Operating and setting up the machine equipment and tools Performing advanced mathematical calculations Inspecting parts and machines for correct specifications Lifting and loading materials Complying with safety and operational guidelines, policies, and procedures Handling and labeling hazardous materials based on the area of assignment Understanding of basic PC skills, such as data entry and operation Communicating with co-workers to provide and receive directions Preferred Skills (Not Required): Technical College experience.
