    "description": "<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>This position is responsible for performing advanced complex research activities to complete science-based projects. This role will work independently to design, plan and develop new methods and technologies for project advancement.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Create, propose and oversee new research methodologies and technologies for advanced complex research activities.</li>\n <li>Review, modify and improve existing research methodologies and technologies for advanced complex research activities.</li>\n <li>Plan set up and perform advanced complex research activities.</li>\n <li>Perform required project-specific techniques, such as molecular biology, cell-based, culturing specific pathogens, biochemical, immunological analyses, animal experimentations, and/or cell biology. </li>\n <li>Collect research data and ensure precision, accuracy and reproducibility of the data.</li>\n <li>Review and perform critical scientific analysis of research data and develop experimental outcomes and conclusions.</li>\n <li>Develop written presentation and publication of research data, figures, outcomes and conclusions.</li>\n <li>Manage logs/files and laboratory resources.</li>\n <li>Mentor volunteers.</li>\n <li>Maintain laboratory apparatus and instruments as needed.</li>\n <li>Perform the duties of a laboratory assistant as required.</li>\n <li>Makes recommendations to improve organizational processes.</li>\n <li>Any related duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences including Immunology, Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology/Forensic Science , Genetics or higher.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Experience:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Prior experience in a research lab activity with animal handling/experimentation, PCR, flow cytometry and microscopy is highly desirable.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be familiar with basic lab techniques</li>\n <li>Knowledge of good laboratory technique is essential</li>\n <li>Performs statistical analysis; interprets and evaluates results, and compiles data for peer and PI review</li>\n <li>Knowledge of a variety of software applications (Microsoft Office Suite).</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Skills & Abilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Molecular biology techniques including PCR analysis</li>\n <li>Cell-based assays including sterile techniques</li>\n <li>Experience handling animals (mice) is highly desirable.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of flow cytometry</li>\n <li>Strong attention to detail in all work processes.</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.</li>\n <li>High level of interpersonal skills to handle a variety of complex issues and situations. Position requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy in dealing with a variety of staff up to and including executive leadership.</li>\n <li>Ability to communicate clearly and with authority, both in writing and verbally, to others in one-on-one or small group settings.</li>\n <li>Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization and customers in a helpful, courteous and friendly manner while demonstrating sensitivity to and respect for diverse populations.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed annual salary is $45,000.00p/yr. to $49,000.00p/yr.
