    "description": "<p>Job Description</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">”Day in the life” responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:</span></p>\n<p><em>Curriculum Development and Instruction</em></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of individual students</li>\n<li>Use progress-monitoring tools to analyze student results for the purpose of modifying and adjusting strategies and programming</li>\n<li>Use data to inform instructional decisions</li>\n<li>Provide students with daily feedback on mastery performance in character and academics and plan for individual learning needs</li>\n<li>Demonstrate strong pedagogy</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em>Commitment to School and Classroom Culture</em></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work collaboratively with your school team and those across PTPLA community</li>\n<li>Help develop school-wide culture that best fits the needs of our students, teachers and families</li>\n<li>Attend and participate in all staff meetings and communicate openly with staff</li>\n<li>Develop positive rapport with students</li>\n<li>Create and foster a positive and calm learning environment</li>\n<li>Enforce, uphold, and exhibit school values, student management policies and culture</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em>Family Engagement</em></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Establish and maintain strong communication lines with all parents and share progress</li>\n<li>Be available for open houses, parent teacher conferences and other events involving parents and community</li>\n<li>Make oneself available to students, parents and other staff members</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em>Growth Mindset</em></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pursue challenging professional goals each year</li>\n<li>Willing to offer support and receive constructive feedback from colleagues in order to create a professional working atmosphere that is conducive to change and improvement</li>\n<li>Participate in school-wide and individual professional development, including pre-service training over the summer and weekly during the academic year</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em>Technical</em></p>\n<p>Experience in managerial aspects of a Special Education program, including but not limited to reviewing and developing an IEP, scheduling and holding IEP meetings, navigating EdPlan or other Special Education student management systems</p>\n<p>Qualifications</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Required Experience</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Valid teaching license (Preferred)</span></li>\n<li>Conferred Bachelor’s degree </li>\n<li>Pass Criminal Background Check</li>\n<li>SPED Teachers certification required</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Desired Qualities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience teaching or supporting diverse learners (highly preferred)</li>\n<li>Commitment to working with students from educationally under-resourced communities (highly preferred)</li>\n<li>Experience and demonstrated success teaching students from educationally under-resourced communities (highly preferred)</li>\n<li>At least two years of teaching experience (preferred)</li>\n<li>Passionate about data-driven instruction </li>\n<li>Unwavering commitment to PTPLA's mission, core values, students, families, and community</li>\n<li>Firm belief in affirming the identity of students, families and staff</li>\n<li>Demonstrates excitement in growing students into the best version of themselves </li>\n<li>Eagerness to collaborate and problem-solve with a variety of stakeholders</li>\n<li>Demonstrates commitment to excellence and development of academic, behavioral, and social and personal responsibility </li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Additional Information</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Compensation and Benefits</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>PTPLA  pay is highly competitive <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span> Estimated s</span>tarting salary for first year teachers begins at $47,000. </span>To establish equitable salary practices, the compensation package is derived from the Oklahoma Department of Education pay scale. This position is exempt and will follow a 10-month work schedule.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Robust benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance policy options. Application for these benefits may be made immediately upon employment.
