text-decoration: underline\">Contract End Date:</span><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">  June 13, 2026</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Responsibilities</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">The Charlotte Lab School Exceptional Children's Lab Contained Teacher will have responsibilities in a self contained classroom, primarily with students who identify on the autism spectrum,  in support of Lab’s </span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">instructional vision</span></span><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Create and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Maintain Individualized Education Plans in conjunction with state and federal requirements</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Hold annual meetings with families to provide progress updates</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Complete progress reports quarterly based on specific student goals</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Complies with timelines and regulations as outlined by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Obtains and maintains compliant special education files</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Deliver specialized instruction to students on his/her caseload</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Develop lesson plans based on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Deliver student instruction in modalities instituted by the school and assigned program in both pull-out and inclusion settings that is data-driven</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Facilitate interdisciplinary instruction of challenge-based curriculum aligned with Lab’s “Quest” model</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Use flexible grouping and scheduling</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Provides assistance in developing and adapting curriculum materials to meet the needs of student and teachers</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Maintains communication with related service providers and case managers to ensure compliance with the provision of services, evaluations and progress reports</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Participate in weekly team meetings</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Analyze data and reports to guide goal setting and instructional planning</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Monitor student progress through a variety of tools and portfolios</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Provide necessary supports to aid instruction in the general education setting</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Proctor standardized tests</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Communicate frequently and regularly with families of students, for both academic and behavior-related reasons, both positive and when needing assistance;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Participate actively in Lab’s community activities, in support of Lab’s instructional, community-building, fundraising, family recruitment, and hiring efforts;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Participate actively in ongoing professional development and teacher evaluation process;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Supervise students and maintain a clean, orderly, safe, print-rich and positive classroom learning environment;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Take on other responsibilities as needed, and as assigned, to ensure student and school success.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">The Charlotte Lab School Lower School Teacher will also have responsibilities in support of Lab’s vision for students’ </span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">social-emotional learning</span></span><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Serve as an advisor to a small group of students; in this role:</span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Deliver a social-emotional skills curriculum;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Develop deep relationships with students in your advisory;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Develop and implement activities to build community within the advisory;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Serve as an advocate for advisees, for both academic and disciplinary reasons;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Provide regular updates and communication with advisees’ families;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Guide advisees in the preparation of their Student-Led Conferences each trimester;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Operate as liaison between advisees’ families and the school.</span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Qualifications</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px; All salaries are determined pending verification of experience by our Finance/HR divisions and Board of Directors budget approval. Please note the following regarding use of the rubric:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Assistant, instructional, dean and director salaries (Grades 1-4) are determined based on 1 year credit for 1 year of teaching and/or other relevant experience. Increased pay for advanced degrees (which may include specialized leadership programs or certifications) is indicated above and paid on the basis on completion of qualifying programs.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Leadership salaries (Grades 5 and above) are determined based on 1 year credit for 1 year of leadership experience, and .5 year credit for each year of teaching experience. Advanced degrees are assumed, so not considered in this scale. </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">The position also includes medical insurance for the employee, with voluntary dental and vision plans, and spouse/family coverage.
