    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Job Title: Data Manager</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Reports to: VP AI</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Location: France - Nice</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Type: Full-time</span><span><br><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 22px\">The Position</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>MARSS is investing in the Machine Learning field in order to improve our NiDAR software in the following areas:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Video Classification, Detection, Tracking</li>\n<li>Pattern recognition / Anomaly detection</li>\n<li>Radar tracking</li>\n<li>Radio Frequency analysis</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Our current focus is strongly in the video area, but we aim at growing quickly our experiments in the other fields.</p>\n<p>Our team is growing, and we are searching for a Data Manager to complete the existing team.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 22px\">Responsibilities </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>The Data Manager will overview all the data related tasks, this includes:</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Making sure all the recordings exists for each component, the recorded data is complete and the recorders are working on each deployment</li>\n<li>Collect and organise the data in an easily accessible way (probably using a DB for certain types of data)</li>\n<li>Manage data distribute on multiple sites</li>\n<li>Be aware of data recording restrictions by country and take the necessary measures</li>\n<li>Manage annotations either by creating tools, cross-referencing data or organising annotation campaigns</li>\n<li>Extract meta data from the datasets (like study periodicity of events, warning of potential issues on a site, usage statistics, etc)</li>\n<li>Help preparing the data for more sophisticated ML models for prediction, classification, tracking, sensor fusion, etc.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 22px\">Requirements<br><br></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good knowledge of Python, Bash, Docker, Docker-compose, to create and maintain the recording systems</li>\n<li>Knowledge of SQL to create a DB where the data will be stored and organised</li>\n<li>Very organised person used to work with huge amounts of data</li>\n<li>We work on Linux (although laptops are Mac, which is now a second class citizen to Nvidia...). We require either working experience or at</li>\n<li>least appropriate theoretical knowledge (or both).</li>\n<li>Experience on an ML framework like TensorFlow, Keras, and PyTorch will be a plus</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Education</span></p>\n<p>We prefer at least bachelors degree level in a science or engineering discipline. Masters or doctorate advantageous</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">The Work Environment</span></p>\n<p>Development on Macs and Ubuntu: We're pragmatic so realize we also have to work with Windows occasionally.</p>\n<p>Small team: Embracing modern development practices. We're bringing the latest web technologies to real-world hardware i.e. we don't work in the</p>\n<p>cloud. We interface with very diverse equipment: radar, sonar, thermal imaging, software-defined radios and more. Our UI runs on touchscreen</p>\n<p>displays, tablets, phones, smart-glasses...<br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Challenges</span></p>\n<p>If you are looking for an easy job, this isn't it. We operate in mission critical environments. Our systems can operate at sea and high security</p>\n<p>areas with limited connectivity to the data center. So, all your assumptions about cloud development techniques and operating environments will</p>\n<p>be constantly challenged. Timelines are strict, and creativity is often required to solve unexpected technical issues.
