Come and be part of an amazing team!!</p><p><br></p><p id=\"isPasted\">The Part Time Exhibit Educator is responsible for the supervision of all guest interactive areas and for providing detailed information on our aquatic inventory when needed. &nbsp;Some involvement with camp and classes may be needed, while assisting with community outreach, overnight camps and educational ventures into the public-school system is optional. &nbsp;This position reports to the Director of Education.</p><p><u>Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following tasks:</u></p><ul><li>Staff the Powerwalk, Ray Bay touch tank, Jellies touch tank and classroom as needed.</li><li>Understanding the aquatic life in the various tanks, including the proper handling of the animals in the touch areas.</li><li>Ensure guests and animal safety by monitoring touch areas for guest behavior, and relaying handling methods to guests.</li><li>Ability to operate a point of sale</li><li>Greeting and interacting with the guests</li><li>Aiding camps and programs as needed</li></ul><p><u>Physical requirement</u></p><ul><li>Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel in order to access stations and assist guests.</li><li>Must be able to stand for periods of 7-8 hours while directing guests.</li><li>Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.</li></ul><p><u>Preferred Qualifications:</u></p><ul><li>Excellent public speaking skills</li><li>Outgoing and friendly personality</li><li>1-2 years&rsquo; experience in public speaking or Biology/Marine Science BS/BA degree</li><li>Ability to teach educational classes about marine science/ aquatic life in a classroom setting and virtually using Zoom or another platform.</li></ul></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>\n",
