    "description": "<p>Upstate Veterinary Specialties is hiring an <strong>experienced Licensed Vet Tech or Veterinary Assistant</strong> for our Emergency Liaison position within our fast paced Emergency Department.</p>\n\n<p>This role serves as the critical connection between patients, clients, and the medical team, ensuring clear communication and compassionate support during urgent and lifesaving moments.</p>\n\n<h3><strong>What We&rsquo;re Looking For:</strong></h3>\n\n<p><strong>Experience &amp; Education</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Required: Minimum of <strong>2+ years veterinary experience</strong> (technician or assistant)</li>\n\t<li>Associate&rsquo;s degree in Veterinary Technology (preferred)</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong>Skills &amp; Qualifications</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills</li>\n\t<li>Ability to multitask in a fast-paced emergency environment</li>\n\t<li>Solid understanding of veterinary medicine and terminology</li>\n\t<li>Excellent interpersonal and client service skills</li>\n\t<li>Ability to handle sensitive conversations and client concerns professionally</li>\n\t<li>High attention to detail and accuracy</li>\n\t<li>Compassionate, calm, and team-oriented</li>\n</ul>\n\n<h3><strong>Schedule (Overnight):</strong></h3>\n\n<p>Sunday &ndash; Tuesday + every other Saturday:&nbsp;<strong>5:45 PM &ndash; 6:15 AM</strong></p>\n\n<h3><strong>What You&rsquo;ll Do</strong></h3>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Present treatment estimates following doctor consultations</li>\n\t<li>Explain estimate ranges, obtain consents, and discuss medical risks</li>\n\t<li>Maintain and update hospital and outpatient charges daily</li>\n\t<li>Provide client updates on patient status and invoices</li>\n\t<li>Coordinate consultations, diagnostics, and interdepartmental communication</li>\n\t<li>Facilitate patient discharges and assist with visitations</li>\n\t<li>Serve as a liaison between the front desk and Emergency team</li>\n\t<li>Assist with treatments and task lists as needed</li>\n\t<li>Manage the emergency message center</li>\n\t<li>Ensure prescriptions are filled and refilled promptly</li>\n\t<li>Maintain internal tracking tools (including Mirro board updates)</li>\n\t<li>Prepare patients for discharge and assist with rounds</li>\n\t<li>Support clients through the euthanasia process with compassion and professionalism</li>\n</ul>\n\n<h3><strong>What We Offer</strong></h3>\n\n<p>We support our team so they can thrive in demanding, rewarding roles.</p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Fully paid Medical, Dental &amp; Long-Term Disability Insurance</li>\n\t<li>Retirement Plan with Company Match</li>\n\t<li>Generous PTO + Pet Insurance Stipend</li>\n\t<li>Housing Allowance (for commutes over 60 miles)</li>\n\t<li>Uniform Allowance &amp; Employee Appreciation Events</li>\n</ul>\n\n<h3><strong>Ready to Step Into a Critical Role?</strong></h3>\n\n<p>Join UVS and help bridge the gap between medical care and client communication when it matters most.<br />\n<strong>Apply today and be part of something meaningful.</strong></p>\n",
