    "description_html": "The Part Time Assistant Track & Field Coach/Recruiting Coordinator will assist the head coach by teaching advanced skills and techniques in track or field events (preferably with expertise in throws, jumps, vaults, or sprints). The coach will assist with daily practice planning and implementation. The successful candidate will coach student-athletes during practices to improve sport skill proficiency and improve team concepts. The assistant coach will provide feedback and analysis of each competition as well as mentor student-athletes for personal, academic, and athletic growth. <br><br><strong><u>Salary:</u></strong> $19,200-$20,300, 10-month position<br><br><strong><u>Recruting Coordinator Responsibilities:</u></strong><ul><li>Overall assistance with achieving annual recruiting goals for men's and women's track and field and cross country teams.</li><li>Marketing the Alfred University track and field programs to cultivate and recruit prospective applicants.</li><li>Communicating with high school and club track and field coaches regarding prospective students.</li><li>Corresponding with prospective student-athletes consistently.</li><li>Organizing and/or assisting with prospective student campus visits.</li><li>Attending high school and club track meets to identify quality candidates.</li><li>Entering recruiting data in athletic department database.</li><li>Completing routine office work and reports related to recruitment.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul><strong><u>Essential Functions:</u></strong><ul><li>Teaching, coaching, and mentoring student-athletes. </li><li>Set up and tear down of facility for practice and competition. Practice and competition analysis. </li><li>Recruiting student-athletes on and off-campus. </li></ul><strong><u>Other Duties & Responsbilities:</u></strong><ul><li>Assist in the teaching and supervision of student-athletes.</li><li>Demonstrate competence in sport skill instruction.</li><li>Conduct small group and large group practice sessions under the direction of the head coach.</li><li>Adhere to all sport governing, department, and institutional rules and policies.</li><li>Demonstrate a sincere interest in the personal, academic, and athletic growth of student-athletes.</li><li>Exhibit supportive and cooperative behavior pursuing sport program goals set by the head coach.</li><li>Demonstrate leadership ability and professional behavior. </li><li>Effectively complete tasks assigned by the head coach or full-time assistant coach.</li><li>Transport students in a University vehicle to practice and/or competition.</li><li>Maintains a safe working environment within and around their facilities and associated equipment and supplies including, but not limited to, obtaining Safety Data Sheet (SOS) information pertaining to any hazards associated with their work environment.</li><li>Safety: Participate in safety training and comply with safety rules, regulations, and protocols.</li><li>Participates in all required assigned trainings.</li><li>Highly effective written and oral communication skills.</li><li>A commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and a high degree of cultural competence and respect for a wide range of identities and experience.</li><li>Contributes to the overall success of the University by performing other duties as assigned.</li></ul><strong><u>Qualifications:</u></strong><ul><li>Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred.</li><li>Candidate must have a minimum of four years as a head or assistant track and field coach and/or collegiate track and field student-athlete.</li><li>Preference for a candidate that has coaching or college competitive experience in throws, jumps, vaults, or sprints.</li><li>Possess highly effective communication skills.</li><li>Willing to take initiative.</li><li>Highly reliable, flexible, and adaptable.</li><li>Knowledge of and ability to use sport-related technology is an asset.</li><li>Must have a valid U.S. driver's license.</li><li>Must be CPR and AED certified by the time of employment.</li><li>Must be able to work evenings and weekends.</li></ul><strong><u>About Alfred University</u></strong><br>Lighting the way for students since 1836.<em>“We've always been a place for makers, especially those who make the future.
