Consider joining our camp staff!</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\"><strong>About This Position</strong><br>Blue Hills Nature Camp is seeking individuals to foster experiential nature-based learning for campers. We aim to promote positive youth development, stewardship for the environment, and a respectful and inclusive safe space for all our campers.<br>&nbsp;<br>The Environmental Leadership program aims to help teens develop leadership skills, examine community resources, and learn about environmental and social justice issues so they can become climate activists in their communities.</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\"><strong>Duties &amp; Responsibilities</strong></span></p><ul><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Create a community with a small group of teens and inspire curiosity</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Design and deliver curriculum including lessons, activities and leadership development opportunities for the Environmental Leadership program for teenaged youth</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Support teens to create and carry out climate actions in their communities and at camp; connect teens with other youth climate activists</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Create and maintain a physically and emotionally safe environment for all campers , proactively communicate with caregivers and staff, and provide leadership for campers</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Assist in cleanup/organization at the end of each day</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Lead and supervise teens on local field trips and overnight experiences</li></ul><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\"><strong>Qualifications</strong><br>At Mass Audubon, our highest priority is finding the best candidate for the job. Research has shown that people of color and women are less likely to apply for jobs if they don&rsquo;t believe they meet every one of the qualifications described in a job description. We encourage you to apply, even if you don&#39;t believe you meet every one of our described qualifications or have a less traditional background.</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\"><em>Required qualifications as per Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MA DPH) regulations, American Camp Association standards and Mass Audubon Policy:</em></span></p><ul><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">At least 21 years of age</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Able to or willing to learn to drive 12 passenger van</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Must hold current and valid driver&rsquo;s license.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">At least 4 weeks of experience working with children including, but not limited to, babysitting (volunteer or otherwise) and experience with younger siblings</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Hold current First Aid and CPR certifications or participate in Mass Audubon provided training to obtain certification prior to the beginning of camp</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Provide documented proof of immunity or vaccination record as mandated by MA DPH; complete camp health form and waiver</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Willing to be outdoors for several hours per day in most weather conditions</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Ability to physically access sanctuary terrain and trails easily by foot</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Ability to effectively interact with others, especially children, in camp&rsquo;s youth-centered environment</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Ability to adapt to changes in schedule and work assignment</li></ul><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\"><em>Desired Qualifications</em></span></p><ul><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Strong interest or related education experience in Environmental Studies, Biology, Conservation, Education, or related field&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Familiarity with regional natural history, wildlife conservation, or other applicable natural history topics &nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Prior experience working at a day or resident camp<em>&nbsp;</em></li></ul><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\"><strong>Work Schedule</strong><br>Camp staff training will be held from June 10<sup>th</sup> through June 19<sup>th</sup>. Camp runs from June 22<sup>nd</sup> through August 21st, 2026. Hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM &ndash; 4:00 PM. Additionally, there are four overnight program sessions &ndash; July 16<sup>th</sup> into 17<sup>th</sup>, July 23<sup>rd</sup> into 24<sup>th</sup>, July 30<sup>th</sup> into 31<sup>st</sup>, and August 6<sup>th</sup> into 7<sup>th</sup>.</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\"><strong>Compensation and Benefits</strong><br>This position&rsquo;s pay range is $18.30-$21.00 per hour; actual pay will be determined based on experience level, qualifications relative to position requirements, and location of the position.
