Our team regularly designs and permits residential, non-residential, mixed-use, institutional, roadway, environmental restoration, and trail system projects where a wide range of environmental services are required. These services include local, state, and federal environmental permitting, wetland delineations, wetland mitigation design, project development & environment studies (PD&E), preparation of open space/habitat management plans, environmental resource assessments, listed species assessments, gopher tortoise surveys, vegetation and wildlife surveys, and expert witness testimonies. We work in a team atmosphere where collaboration, flexibility, and self-motivation are important. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Main Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Client development, marketing, and project management</li>\n <li>Work on a wide variety of environmental permitting, environmental planning, environmental compliance monitoring, and natural resources projects as they relate to land development, transportation, and environmental restoration-focused projects</li>\n <li>Prepare Environmental Resource Assessments to support project applications</li>\n <li>Delineate jurisdictional wetland lines to be approved by appropriate permitting agency</li>\n <li>Assess and analyze project impacts to identify permit requirements; and develop strategies to avoid or minimize impacts and permit requirements</li>\n <li>Coordinate with local, state, and federal environmental permitting agencies and staff</li>\n <li>Coordinate with clients and other professional disciplines</li>\n <li>Support senior ecological staff and other project managers across NV5 in completing required environmental studies, documents, and reports</li>\n <li>Research and interpret scientific studies, regulatory programs, guidance, and applications</li>\n <li>Assimilate and manage data, provide creative graphical representations of complex information</li>\n <li>Work with geographic positioning tools and information systems</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Leadership expectations (Practice Lead level)</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Managing multidisciplinary teams</li>\n <li>Owning project budgets, schedules, and QA/QC</li>\n <li>Serving as client-facing regulatory advisor</li>\n <li>Driving business development/proposal capture</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Environmental Assessments & Reports</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Local, state, and federal environmental permitting</li>\n <li>Wetland delineations, wetland mitigation design</li>\n <li>Project development & environment studies (PD&E)</li>\n <li>Preparation of open space/habitat management plans</li>\n <li>Environmental resource assessments</li>\n <li>UMAM</li>\n <li>MBI</li>\n <li>Listed species assessments, gopher tortoise surveys, vegetation, and wildlife surveys</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Permitting</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Environmental Resource/404 Permitting</li>\n <li>Incidental Take/Conservation Permits</li>\n <li>Assist in preparation for and participation in public information meetings and hearings</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education, experience, licensure, and skills</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>BS/MS Environmental Studies or BS/MS Biology or Natural Studies field degree from an accredited program</li>\n <li>Society of Wetland Scientists</li>\n <li>FWCC Gopher Tortoise Agent</li>\n <li>Botany</li>\n <li>Threatened and Endangered Species</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Wide-ranging agency experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Water Management Districts (WMD)</li>\n <li>US Fish and Wildlife (USFWS)</li>\n <li>Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWCC)</li>\n <li>Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE)</li>\n <li>Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP)</li>\n <li>FDOT (PD&E)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Work environment and physical demands of this position</strong></p>\n<p>The characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.
