Job Description Position Summary: The Operations Manager will plan, direct, and coordinate the production activities of the plant. Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities: The Operations Manager is accountable for inspiring and executing strategies which achieve optimum safety, quality, service, productivity, and profitability. Develop and Advance initiatives that promote and improve the safety, health, security, and welfare of all employees. Maintain and drive safe, clean, orderly (5s), and environmentally compliant production operations. Follow and Enforce GMP’s in compliance with all food safety requirements. Inclusive oversight of all production and production support activities of the facility ensuring all are conducted in accordance with Company policies, principles, procedures, values, and standards. Effectively assess, mentor and coach direct reports to ensure optimum performance. Provide technical recommendations and implementation for continuous improvement in plant production process. Proactively conference and collaborate with customers, sales, and internal/external support resources to evaluate, develop, and promote strategies designed to improve service, flow, quality, and product value. Execute supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Responsible and accountable for Operations Metrics to include Turn-over, Service, Quality, Cost, OEE, Waste. Willingly undertake and perform other duties and tasks as assigned. Will have supervisors and lead personnel as well as the hourly production workforce as direct reports. Candidate Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree, or a combination of continuing education and experience. Continuous Improvement or Black Belt Certification is a plus. Experience leading change in a Union environment. A minimum of 5-7 years of related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated evidence of implementing or utilizing TQM, Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma processes and methodologies to drive improvement in cost, productivity, or profitability. Experience with SQF or ISO within a manufacturing environment Proven technical leadership with the ability to utilize structured problem-solving methods to deliver results. Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization. Proficient in Microsoft Office, with the willingness and ability to learn new systems. Physical Requirements: Lifting; a minimum of 50 lbs. - Carrying; a minimum of 50 lbs. Pulling; 2 hours - Pushing; 3 hours - Reaching above shoulders Walking; 8 hours - Standing; 8 hours - Kneeling; 4 hours - Bending; 6 hours - Squatting; 6 hours - Climbing;6 hours Visual ability - Hearing ability use hands and fingers to feel, handle, push/pull levers & buttons, and operate various tools. Reduces the impact of plastic and paper on the environment through recycling and increased recycled content. Sets a high standard of industry leadership and corporate citizenship. Creates meaningful benefits for the environment and the community. Facilitates environmental action by retailers and the community. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $130 - $155 + bonus + benefits.     "responsibilities": "Position Summary:\r\n \r\nThe Operations Manager will plan, direct, and coordinate the production activities of the plant. \r\n \r\nEssential Functions & Key Responsibilities:\r\n- The Operations Manager is accountable for inspiring and executing strategies which achieve optimum safety, quality, service, productivity, and profitability.\r\n- Develop and Advance initiatives that promote and improve the safety, health, security, and welfare of all employees.\r\n- Maintain and drive safe, clean, orderly (5s), and environmentally compliant production operations.\r\n- Follow and Enforce GMP’s in compliance with all food safety requirements.\r\n- Inclusive oversight of all production and production support activities of the facility ensuring all are conducted in accordance with Company policies, principles, procedures, values, and standards.\r\n- Effectively assess, mentor and coach direct reports to ensure optimum performance.\r\n- Provide technical recommendations and implementation for continuous improvement in plant production process.\r\n- Proactively conference and collaborate with customers, sales, and internal/external support resources to evaluate, develop, and promote strategies designed to improve service, flow, quality, and product value.\r\n- Execute supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.\r\n- Responsible and accountable for Operations Metrics to include Turn-over, Service, Quality, Cost, OEE, Waste. \r\n- Willingly undertake and perform other duties and tasks as assigned. \r\n- Will have supervisors and lead personnel as well as the hourly production workforce as direct reports.\r\n \r\nCandidate Requirements:\r\n \r\n- Bachelor’s Degree, or a combination of continuing education and experience. \r\n- Continuous Improvement or Black Belt Certification is a plus.\r\n- Experience leading change in a Union environment.\r\n- A minimum of 5-7 years of related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience. \r\n- Demonstrated evidence of implementing or utilizing TQM, Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma processes and methodologies to drive improvement in cost, productivity, or profitability.\r\n- Experience with SQF or ISO within a manufacturing environment\r\n- Proven technical leadership with the ability to utilize structured problem-solving methods to deliver results.\r\n- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization.\r\n- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with the willingness and ability to learn new systems.\r\n  \r\nPhysical Requirements:\r\n- Lifting; a minimum of 50 lbs. - Carrying; a minimum of 50 lbs.\r\n- Pulling; 2 hours - Pushing; 3 hours - Reaching above shoulders\r\n- Walking; 8 hours - Standing; 8 hours - Kneeling; 4 hours - Bending; 6 hours - Squatting; 6 hours - Climbing;6 hours\r\n- Visual ability - Hearing ability\r\n- use hands and fingers to feel, handle, push/pull levers & buttons, and operate various tools.   \r\n- Reduces the impact of plastic and paper on the environment through recycling and increased recycled content.\r\n- Sets a high standard of industry leadership and corporate citizenship.\r\n- Creates meaningful benefits for the environment and the community.\r\n- Facilitates environmental action by retailers and the community.\r\nA reasonable estimate of the current range is $130 - $155 + bonus + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
