          "text": "<p>CIMA+’s Energy and Resources Civil-Structural&#xa0;group specializes in the engineering of wide range of industrial structures, underground structures and hydraulic structures. Working closely with our clients, our dedicated professionals help to establish and understand the specific needs of a range of heavy and light industrial&#xa0;projects.<br>\n<br>\nWe are currently seeking a <strong>Civil Engineering Technologist</strong> to join our structural group. This is a hybrid role based in our Vancouver office, requiring a minimum of three to four in-office days per week.</p><p>The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of concrete and steel structures, with a focus on structural inspections, condition assessments, and material testing (non-destructive and destructive methods). The successful candidate will support projects at various stages, including inspection, rehabilitation, and construction monitoring.<br>\n&#xa0;</p><p>This role is primarily field- and inspection-focused, requiring hands-on experience with inspection tools, working at heights, and in confined spaces.<br>\n<br>\nThe successful candidate will be an enthusiastic team player who loves challenges, thrives on hard work and looks forward to sharing in the rewards of corporate and personal success within a team environment.</p><p>Main responsibilities will include:</p><ul><li>Conduct field inspections and condition assessments of concrete and steel structures (e.g., retaining walls, manholes, industrial structures, and underground infrastructure)</li><li>Perform and assist with non-destructive testing (NDT) and destructive testing of construction materials, including:</li><li>Concrete compressive strength testing (e.g., rebound hammer, core sampling)</li><li>Rebar location and cover measurement (e.g., GPR, cover meters)</li><li>Corrosion detection and assessment of reinforcing steel</li><li>Operate and maintain inspection equipment and tools used in structural assessments</li><li>Assist in planning and executing field investigation programs, including sampling and testing procedures</li><li>Work in confined spaces and at heights in compliance with safety regulations</li><li>Record, document, and interpret field data, and prepare inspection reports with photographs and findings</li><li>Assist in the preparation of rehabilitation recommendations and technical reports under supervision</li><li>Support preparation of drawings and sketches using AutoCAD/Revit based on inspection findings</li><li>Estimate quantities and assist in cost evaluations for repair and rehabilitation work</li><li>Monitor construction activities and verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements</li><li>Coordinate with engineers, technicians, and other disciplines to support project delivery</li><li>Travel to project sites across British Columbia as required</li><li>Review progress and compliance of construction work in accordance with tender documents</li><li>Support other members of the team who are earlier in their career and needing guidance</li><li>Demonstrated ability to communicate with other project professionals from functions including structural, mechanical and design such as architects, engineers and technicians</li><li>Occasionally, with guidance from a manager or team leader, liaise with clients to discuss various aspects of a project</li><li>Able to work out of office for full day inspections</li><li>Able to travel throughout&#xa0;British Columbia to&#xa0;potential job sites&#xa0;</li><li>Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and shift work, as required to accommodate project and inspection schedules</li><li>Availability to be on-call for urgent or emergency inspections, based on project needs</li></ul>",
