    "description": "<h2>Job Summary</h2>\n<p>Aptive Resources is seeking skilled Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) - Emergency Medicine to support the Atlanta VA Medical System. The CNAs will perform a variety of patient care and diagnostic support duties under the minimal supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). They will provide effective interventions tailored to individual patient needs in accordance with established facility policies and safety standards.</p>\n<h2>Primary Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Direct Patient Care:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assist patients with personal care, including feeding, walking, lifting, and turning.</li>\n <li>Provide hygiene care using specialized equipment for patients receiving oxygen or suction therapy.</li>\n <li>Supervise and support patients in self-care activities such as eating, dressing, and using prosthetic devices.</li>\n <li>Assist with pre and post-operative care instructions based on nurse or doctor guidance.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Diagnostic Support:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Take, record, and report vital signs and changes in patients' conditions to the nurse.</li>\n <li>Assist in diagnostic examinations such as lumbar punctures, liver biopsy, bone marrow examinations, and emergency procedures.</li>\n <li>Collect, label, and transport specimens to the laboratory.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Equipment and Environment Management:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assemble necessary equipment for procedures and ensure patient positioning.</li>\n <li>Clean and care for medical equipment used in oxygen and suction therapy and frame beds.</li>\n <li>Report equipment needing repair.</li>\n <li>Conduct inventories and contraband searches as needed.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Treatment Procedures:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Change simple dressings and care for patients with infections or communicable diseases.</li>\n <li>Provide care for patients with oxygen therapy, chest therapy, postural drainage, and catheter care.</li>\n <li>Administer basic life support measures.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Documentation and Communication:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Document vital signs and patient condition in patient charts.</li>\n <li>Assist with the completion of patient admission histories.</li>\n <li>Verbally provide information to nurses for inclusion in Nursing Care Plans.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Mental Health Support:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Conduct ongoing evaluations of the mental health environment of care.</li>\n <li>Accompany mental health patients to external appointments.</li>\n <li>Monitor activities in accordance with VHA and AVAHCS regulations.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Duties:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Work with COVID-19 positive patients and Patients Under Investigation (PUI) for COVID-19.</li>\n <li>Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).</li>\n <li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>\n <li> </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Minimum Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Current CNA certification from any state in the United States.</li>\n <li>Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate accredited by the American Heart Association.</li>\n <li>Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a relevant skill set, with recent experience (within the last six months).</li>\n <li>Patient Care Technician (PCT) Certification/License or Intermediate Care Technician (ICT) Certification/License may be accepted in lieu of a Nursing Assistant certification.</li>\n <li>Strong teamwork and communication skills.</li>\n <li>Ability to anticipate the needs of professional staff and work collaboratively.</li>\n <li>Competency in basic nursing care and diagnostic support duties.</li>\n <li>Proficient in documentation and patient care planning.</li>\n <li>Ability to provide physical and emotional support to patients.</li>\n <li>Capability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.</li>\n <li>Ability to complete and successfully pass any required government background check</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>About Aptive</h2>\n<p>Aptive is a modern federal consulting firm focused on human experience, digital services, and business transformation.
