Located in the Catholic University–Brookland community of Washington, DC, the school serves diverse learners and families through authentic Montessori education and bilingual immersion programming aligned with DCPCSB and OSSE expectations.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Summary</span></p>\n<p>Shining Stars Montessori Academy Public Charter School is seeking a caring and dedicated Part-Time Third-Year Kindergarten Guide to support students during their critical kindergarten year within a Montessori Children’s  House primary environment.</p>\n<p>The Guide will provide targeted academic support, enrichment, and small-group instruction to third-year kindergarten students while supporting independence, school readiness, literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional growth.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Essential Responsibilities</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Instruction &amp; Student Support</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide engaging small-group and individualized instruction for third-year primary kindergarten students.</li>\n<li>Support literacy, math, executive functioning, and social-emotional development and preparation for first grade and ‘stepping up’ to first grade..</li>\n<li>Reinforce Montessori lessons and classroom expectations in collaboration with the Lead Guide. and the Montessori Academic Dean</li>\n<li>Foster independence, concentration, confidence, and positive peer interactions.</li>\n<li>Maintain accurate student progress documentation and communication records.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Collaboration &amp; Professional Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collaborate with classroom staff, specialists, and school leadership to support student learning goals.</li>\n<li>Participate in required staff meetings, trainings, and professional development as scheduled.</li>\n<li>Maintain professional communication with families and colleagues.</li>\n<li>Uphold all school policies and expectations related to safety, confidentiality, and professionalism.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Family Engagement</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support positive relationships with families through ongoing communication and student updates.</li>\n<li>Assist with conferences, progress monitoring, and family engagement activities as needed.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Required</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in education or related field</li>\n<li>Experience working with young children</li>\n<li>Commitment to Montessori philosophy and child-centered learning</li>\n<li>Strong communication and collaboration skills</li>\n<li>Eligibility to work in the United States</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Preferred</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Montessori training or credential</li>\n<li>Bilingual in English and Spanish</li>\n<li>Experience in early childhood or kindergarten settings</li>\n<li>Familiarity with DCPCSB and OSSE expectations</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Compensation &amp; Benefits</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Competitive hourly compensation based on education and experience</li>\n<li>Professional development opportunities</li>\n<li>Supportive and collaborative school culture</li>\n<li>Opportunities for continued growth within the Montessori program</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Equal Opportunity Statement</span></p>\n<p>Shining Stars Montessori Academy Public Charter School is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other protected status under applicable law.</p>\n<p> </p>",
