Candidates must be eager to work with students of all abilities in a French immersion school and have a deep enough command of French, English, and their content area to adapt instruction to students’ interests and needs. Instructors will be recruited from a variety of French-speaking countries to represent the broad reach of the French language around the world. International candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience and a teaching degree.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #0070c0; font-size: 16px\">Status of Position</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">This is a full-time position with Académie Lafayette.  This is an exempt position pursuant to the U.S. Department of Labor.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #0070c0; font-size: 16px\">Reporting</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">The French Immersion Teacher reports to their campus/building principal.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #0070c0; font-size: 16px\">Responsibilities</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Participate in grade level curriculum planning</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Lesson planning and implementation of the immersion model</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Classroom management</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Communicate with peers and parents</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Maintain accurate grades, documentation of report cards, and attendance records</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Participate in all mandatory training and professional development, as required</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Engage in school-wide activities</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #0070c0; font-size: 16px\">Qualifications</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Bachelor’s Degree</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Hold or be eligible for Missouri Teaching Certificate or equivalent in home country</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Native or near-native fluency in French</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Proven experience as a teacher; international candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills necessary for working in a multicultural environment</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">The ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and to meet deadlines</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Ability to integrate technology into the classroom</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #0070c0; font-size: 16px\">Other Requirements</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Must pass a state and federal fingerprint background check through MACHS.</span></li>\n<li><span>Must be registered or get registered with the Family Care Safety Registry.</span><br></li>\n</ul>",
