Individuals who require verbal and/or physical assistance with daily needs often consider a host home setting.</p><p><strong><u>What is a Host Home setting like?</u></strong></p><p>PPCH has numerous host homes located throughout the metro area. Each host home is unique in its area of specialty, general layout and physical location.</p><p><strong><u>What are the responsibilities of a Host Home Provider?</u></strong></p><p>The Host Home Provider&#39;s main focus is to provide a safe and supportive environment for the member(s) in services in their home. Each Host Home Provider is responsible for ensuring the health and safety of the individual living in their home, while ensuring they will have plenty of opportunities for socialization and access to community resources.</p><p><strong><u>What type of training does a Host Home Provider receive?</u></strong>&nbsp;</p><p>PPCH provides specialized trainings to all providers. These trainings include CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration, Customer Rights &amp; many other areas. All host homes are monitored closely by PPCH to ensure that the member in services is receiving the highest level of care.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>Qualifications</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Must be able to provide services and support for 1 - 3 members in your own home on an on-going basis</li><li>Must successfully complete PPCH&rsquo;s required training courses</li><li>Must be able to chart individual daily member activities and medications in a web-based system (training is provided) &nbsp;</li><li>Have professionalism and compassion</li><li>Able to focus on individualized care and support</li><li>Ability to teach others</li><li>Have good written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Have a valid driver&#39;s license and reliable transportation</li><li>Must clear background screening and reference checks</li><li>Be proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Office Suite, or similar software</li><li>Experience with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred, but not required</li></ul><p><em>The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this role.
