We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support the health and well-being of students in a dynamic school-based setting. In this role, you will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician, while partnering with school staff, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure safe, effective, and student-centered care.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong><u>Responsibilities:</u></strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0in;\"><li>Following and enforcing school policies and procedures affecting the health, safety and well-being of employees and students in the school health setting.</li><li>&nbsp;Performs specialized medical procedures for students after receiving child specific training and delegation by registered nurse, including, but not limited to, clean catheterization, enteral tube feeding/medication, seizure care. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards and as directed by the physician.</li><li>Perform routine diagnostic tests, medical treatments and procedures such as taking and recording temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure; changing sterile dressings, giving irrigations ; EKGs, and diabetic management.</li><li>Assists with the preparation of equipment and aids in the treatment, examination, and testing of patients.</li><li>Observes, records, and reports patient&#39;s condition and reaction to drugs and treatment to physicians/nurse practitioners, School Health Supervisor, School Administrators and parent, as needed.</li><li>Instructs patients on sample collection and testing.</li><li>Arranges for patients testing and information.</li><li>&nbsp;Orders, prepares, and inspects patients&rsquo; charts. Posts tests and examination results.</li><li>Adheres to Clinical/Nursing Department policies and procedures.</li><li>Complies with Infection Control and OSHA Regulations (handling and disposal of biomedical waste) for the center as per regulations.</li><li>Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.</li><li>&nbsp;Monitors patient medication, supplies and equipment; notifies parent of the need to restock medication, supplies and equipment.</li><li>Maintains patient charts and documentation per School Health program requirements.</li><li>Administer first aid as needed.</li><li>Perform CPR/AED as needed.</li><li>&nbsp;Performing other related duties as assigned, including but not limited to, those duties performed by a School Health Technician and Telehealth LPN</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><br></span></p><h1 style=\"margin-left:-.25in;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><u>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Education/Experience:</u></span></strong></h1><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>LPN Program: Completion of a state-approved practical nursing program, typically lasting about one year, which includes both classroom instruction and clinical practice.</li><li>Licensing: Successful completion of the NCLEX-PN (National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses) to obtain LPN licensure in Florida.</li><li>Clinical Experience: Practical experience gained during the LPN training program, which typically includes clinical rotations in various healthcare settings, such as hospitals, nursing homes, or clinics.</li><li>Experience in Healthcare: Previous experience working in healthcare or a clinical setting is often preferred but not always required for entry-level positions.
