In this role, you will assist with regulatory research, field monitoring, data collection, and report preparation while helping ensure projects comply with applicable environmental laws and regulations.</p>\n<p>Projects may include utility-scale solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), transmission and linear infrastructure, transportation, and water development projects. Working closely with senior staff and multidisciplinary teams, the Environmental Compliance Specialist I will gain hands-on experience supporting construction and operations-phase compliance and contribute to delivering high-quality consulting services in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.</p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities  </strong></p>\n<p>Regulatory Compliance and Permitting</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assists in researching and interpreting environmental regulations and policies to support project compliance.</li>\n <li>Helps prepare and submit permit applications, compliance reports, and environmental documentation.</li>\n <li>Supports project teams in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental laws (e.g., National </li>\n <li>Environmental Policy Act [NEPA], California Environmental Quality Act [CEQA], Clean Water Act [CWA], Clean Air Act [CAA]).</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Field Monitoring and Data Collection</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Conducts site visits and field assessments to monitor environmental conditions and ensure regulatory adherence.</li>\n <li>Collects and analyzes environmental data related to air, water, and soil quality.</li>\n <li>Assists in implementing best management practices (BMPs) for erosion control, stormwater management, and other environmental protections.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Reporting and Documentation</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assists in preparing technical reports, impact assessments, and compliance audits.</li>\n <li>Maintains and organizes environmental records, monitoring logs, and field notes.</li>\n <li>Supports teams with environmental impact mitigation planning and tracking.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Project Coordination and Communication</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Supports coordination efforts with regulatory agencies, project managers, and field teams to ensure smooth compliance workflows.</li>\n <li>Participates in team meetings and project discussions to provide regulatory insight.</li>\n <li>Assists in responding to compliance-related inquiries and project needs.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Professional Development and Industry Engagement</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Stays up to date on environmental policies, industry trends, and best practices.</li>\n <li>Participates in training programs, workshops, and professional organizations.</li>\n <li>Seeks mentorship and learning opportunities to advance technical knowledge and compliance expertise.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>1+ years’ experience in environmental compliance, regulatory assessments, or permitting.</li>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or a related life sciences field required.</li>\n <li>Must possess a valid driver’s license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by the first day of employment </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Understanding of environmental laws and regulations.</li>\n <li>Ability to perform field assessments and data collection.</li>\n <li>Strong technical writing and analytical skills.</li>\n <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS) or environmental modeling tools is a plus.</li>\n <li>Strong communication and teamwork abilities.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Compensation:</strong> $31.25-$34.00 hourly* </p>\n<p>*Final agreed-upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location. Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check prior to beginning employment. </p>\n<p><strong>Working Conditions </strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>This job operates in a remote or office-based environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>This job requires occasional project site visits, based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, and moving vehicles and equipment. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Requirements </strong></p>\n<p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
