Our teams work on complex problems where reliability, security, and speed of innovation matter.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">We’re looking for a <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">QA Infrastructure Test Engineer</span> who enjoys solving difficult technical challenges and wants their work to have real operational impact.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">What You’ll Do</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">As a <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">QA Infrastructure Test Engineer</span>, you’ll help ensure the quality, reliability, and security of physical and Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC)‑based platforms across SiXworks delivery teams by applying the <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">SiXworks STLC</span> and <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Shift‑Left</span> principles throughout requirements, planning, design, environment provisioning, execution, and closure.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Your work may include:</span></p>\n<ul></ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Analyse infrastructure requirements and architectures; identify test conditions; maintain traceability; log risks.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Create infrastructure‑focused test strategies and plans defining scope, environments, tooling, automation, and governance entry/exit criteria.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Provision and validate test environments in collaboration with DevSecOps, ensuring OS, network, platform services, monitoring, and pipelines align to readiness standards.  </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Design and execute tests across physical infrastructure and IaC, including functional, integration, regression, resilience, non‑functional, and security‑related scenarios.  </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Apply Secure‑by‑Design principles; support security testing; contribute to accreditation, assurance, and compliance documentation.  </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Manage defects with clear evidence; support retesting and regression; produce concise summaries, dashboards, and release recommendations.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">What We’re Looking For</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">We value people who take ownership, think critically, and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team tackling complex challenges. You don’t need to tick every box, but we’re particularly interested in people with skills/experience in:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Proven experience in all phases of the STLC: requirement analysis, test planning, design, environment setup, execution, reporting and closure.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Experience with traceability, risk-based testing, defect lifecycle management, gating, and evidence‑led testing.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Strong knowledge of test automation tools and frameworks.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Familiarity with Secure by Design principles and MOD testing standards.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Experience with Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD environments.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Knowledge of test management tools (Xray, TestRail, Zephyr, SpiraTest etc.) and integration with issue management systems (Jira/Azure DevOps).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Certifications such as ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board), TOGAF, or equivalent is desirable.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Infrastructure, Networking &amp; Operating Systems</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Strong understanding of <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, firewalls, VLANs</span>, and related network behaviours.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Experience with physical infrastructure setup and troubleshooting (routers, switches, cabling).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Proficiency with <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Linux/Unix</span> command line for diagnostics, configuration, and validation.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Experience working across virtualisation platforms (VMware, VirtualBox) and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).  </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Experience of active directory or Microsoft application suite such as SharePoint &amp; Exchange</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Infrastructure as Code (IaC)</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Terraform: writing/validating HCL, managing state, using modules.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Ansible: building playbooks/roles, inventories, and validating idempotency.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Kubernetes: deploying workloads, validating manifests, managing clusters, and testing containerised applications.  </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">CI/CD &amp; Automation</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Familiarity with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Experience integrating IaC validation and environment checks into automated pipelines.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Understanding of pipeline gating, automated readiness checks, and environment orchestration.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Security &amp; Compliance</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Strong grounding in Secure‑by‑Design principles, IAM, least privilege, OS hardening, network segmentation, and observability.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Experience within regulated or highly governed environments (e.g., MOD or similar).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Ability to support compliance, assurance, and accreditation activity.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Security &amp; Compliance familiarity with JSP, NIST, CIS or STIG frameworks.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Just as important are curiosity, strong problem solving ability, and the motivation to continuously improve how technology is designed and delivered.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">About SiXworks</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">SiXworks is a specialist digital innovation partner delivering secure, mission-critical technology to Defence and National Security organisations.
