What You'll Do Epic Games is searching for an experienced Senior Language Programmer to join our Verse team, which owns the toolchain (compiler, VM, and runtime) powering game development in Unreal Engine and UEFN. You'll work on the systems every UE and UEFN developer relies on to build and ship games with Verse. In this role, you will Extend and evolve the Verse compiler toolchain and VM, implement new language features, integrate the toolchain into Unreal Engine's content, build, and cooking pipelines Optimize performance, memory usage, and iteration times across the Verse toolchain and UE/Verse boundary Establish test workflows to validate improvements and prevent regressions Drive integration work in close collaboration with programmers from the Verse Language team and the broader Unreal Engine programming organization What we're looking for Excellent knowledge of C++17 or later Experience in profiling and optimizing large codebases Strong ability to reason about large, interconnected systems Strong communication and collaboration skills across programming teams Ability to work autonomously and deliver practical solutions independently Strength in compiler and VM internals or Unreal Engine integration (experience in both is a plus) EPIC JOB + EPIC BENEFITS = EPIC LIFE We pay 100% for benefits for both employees and dependents and offer coverage for supplemental medical, dental, vision, critical illness, telemedicine, Life and AD&D, long term disability insurance as well as weekly indemnity (short term disability) and a retirement savings plan with a competitive employer match. Pay Transparency Information The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic’s generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).
