Description
Start your career in the technical trades with EMR, a leader in commercial kitchen repair. Our Build-A-Technician Program is built for motivated individuals who are ready to join the trades and is designed for individuals with limited or no prior technical experience. Mechanical aptitude, eagerness to learn, customer service and a desire to help others is a must. At EMR you have a local dispatch, parts and management team to help support you. You’ll receive foundational training, real-world exposure, and mentorship to help you confidently take the first step into the skilled trades.
This posting represents openings for the same position across multiple locations: Baltimore, MD; Beltsville, MD; New Castle, DE; Salisbury, MD. Our Service Technicians provide the highest quality service and repair for commercial kitchen appliances while providing an exceptional customer service experience. EMR is a drug-free workplace, clean driving record required.
Compensation :
$23–$25 per hour depending on location.
Starting rates by location:
• Baltimore, MD; New Castle, DE; Salisbury, MD – $23/hr
• Beltsville, MD – $25/hr

Position Requirements:
Strong mechanical aptitude (must pass mechanical aptitude test) Possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of three years Clear criminal background Pre-Employment drug screening Ability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, reach, and occasionally lift and carry up to 70 pounds Basic hand tools required after 6-month training period
Position Benefits:

Term Life Insurance –$15k Company paid, with the option to buy additional coverage. All Insurance coverage begins the first of the month after hire date. 401K—immediate auto enroll at 5% in addition to discretionary company match. 100% Tuition Reimbursement- eligibility begins after 1 year of employment & classes must be at least 50% job related material. Port to port travel pay. Opportunity for additional income: Safe driving award, license & trade certification bonus, profit sharing bonus, parts upselling bonus, referral bonus for hard-to-fill positions, PM contract referral. Ongoing training with the potential for advanced certifications & licenses (fees paid by EMR). Technical support provided by EMR Field Service Supervisor or Service Mgr. Essential tools & PPE provided. Work Shoe Reimbursement. Company service vehicle offered. Fuel card, EZ-Pass, tablet and cell phone provided for business use. Paid Leave:
17 days PTO accrual per year – 1 st year is prorated. 3 days paid Jury Duty. 3 days Funeral leave. 8 holidays & 2 floating holidays per year. Double time earned for working a holiday. Paid Wellness day (paid day off to attend annual wellness physical)
