We seek employees who bring different and innovative ways of seeing the world and solving problems.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>The Registered Nurse</strong><strong> – Clinical Nurse Coordinator</strong> is a member of an interdisciplinary care team. This role provides patient centric care and is primarily responsible for nursing assessment and diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Per Diem - Variable Mon through Fri - 8 or 10 hour shifts</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Assesses physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs and evaluates patients’ adaptation to health changes</li>\n <li>Develops a plan of care based on patients’ disease, symptoms, and response to treatment</li>\n <li>Educates patients, families, and caregivers on disease processes, treatment, side effects and symptom management</li>\n <li>Coordinates with inter-disciplinary team to ensure continuity of care</li>\n <li>Refers patients, families and caregivers as appropriate to other clinical resources/professionals such as social work, home health care, clinical nutrition, etc.</li>\n <li>Implements, evaluates and modifies plan of care</li>\n <li>Integrates research and evidence based knowledge into clinical practice</li>\n</ul>\n<p>In addition to above primary responsibilities of the Registered Nurses (RN), the Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) will have the following key responsibilities:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Direct Patient Care</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Education patients and families: chemotherapy, central lines, injections, home care</li>\n <li>Telephone and email symptom triage</li>\n <li>Dressing changes, medication administration, injections</li>\n <li>New patient orientation</li>\n <li>Caregiver support</li>\n <li>Assessment of needs for additional supportive care resources</li>\n <li>Prescription refills</li>\n <li>Result reviews</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Indirect Patient Care</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Supportive care referrals</li>\n <li>Assist with FMLA paperwork, disability paperwork, Ferry passes</li>\n <li>Coordination of outside clinical care</li>\n <li>Ensuring continuity of care with outside providers</li>\n <li>Collaboration with research team for patients on trial</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Communication and Teamwork</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Attend regular team meetings with provider and nursing teams.</li>\n <li>Coordination of care with ancillary services.</li>\n <li>Delegation of tasks to appropriate team members</li>\n <li>Coordinating patient schedules with clinic team.</li>\n <li>Collaboration with infusion RN and other members of the care team to assure patient needs are met.</li>\n <li>Real-time management and escalation of issues in clinic.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Professional Development and Clinic Engagement</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Document all nursing care activities accurately and in a timely fashion.</li>\n <li>Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of patient privacy rights.</li>\n <li>Active participation in continuing education, departmental projects, committee work, and quality improvement initiatives.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Graduate from an accredited school of nursing</li>\n <li>Must have current Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license or current NLC multistate license (MSL); and MSL primary state of residence must be updated to WA within 60 days of hire. This requirement may be waived under specific circumstances, subject to approval.</li>\n <li>Applicants that do not have previous oncology experience will be provided additional training and support</li>\n <li>Current BLS AHA Health Provider Card (or equivalent course, such as by the American Red Cross) and renewal required every two years</li>\n <li>Additional certification may be required dependent upon department. </li>\n <li>Critical thinking; the ability to practice the cognitive skills of analyzing, applying standards, discriminating, information seeking, logical reasoning, predicting, and transforming knowledge.</li>\n <li>Ability to develop clinical judgment.</li>\n <li>Time Management skills; the ability to organize and manage time and tasks independently.</li>\n <li>Ability to communicate effectively by looking and listening for cues, asking open-ended questions, exploring cues, using pauses, screening responses, and clarifying response.</li>\n <li>Ability to effectively listen by using reflecting, acknowledging, summarizing, empathizing, and paraphrasing skill.</li>\n <li>Ability to effectively provide information by checking what information the person knows already, giving small amounts of information at a time, using clear terms and avoiding jargon, avoiding detail unless it is requested, checking for understanding, and pausing and waiting for a response.</li>\n <li>Good communication skills.</li>\n <li>Skilled at multitasking and organization. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>BSN prepared nurse.</li>\n <li>OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) or BMT RN.</li>\n <li>2 years of oncology nursing experience.</li>\n <li>Previous telephone triage experience.</li>\n <li>Previous outpatient clinic experience.</li>\n</ul>The hourly pay range for this position is from $54.78 to $101.42, which includes the per diem differential, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.  \n<p> </p>\n<p>Per Diem - Variable Mon through Fri - 8 or 10 hour shifts</p>\n<p> </p>Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.
