We are looking for a Senior Field Support Engineer to join our Robotics, AI and Unmanned Systems vertical. You will support a rotating mix of client and internal projects — sometimes a different project every day, sometimes weeks of deep work on a single substantial test campaign. Contribute custom engineering and automation solutions that upgrade test infrastructure and showcase Area X.O's capabilities. Provide hands-on support for drone, counter-UAV, and unmanned ground and aerial vehicle projects, with cross-vertical exposure to smart farm and defence work as opportunities arise. Support visiting clients running AI, robotics, and unmanned systems demonstrations, ensuring stable power, reliable connectivity, and a smooth on-site experience. WHAT YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED/GAINED THROUGHOUT YOUR CAREER : Diploma or degree in Engineering (Electrical, Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer, or Mechanical), Computer Science, or a related technical discipline. 5 or more years in a hands-on technical field engineering role. Exceptional candidates with 3 to 5 years and strong technical breadth will be considered. Strong Python scripting skills and comfort with at least one other scripting language. Working knowledge of network protocols (TCP/UDP) and ability to configure switches and routers. Familiarity with robotics or autonomous systems testing workflows such as ROS/ROS2 or equivalent frameworks. Ability to engage in client-facing interactions and provide technical support as needed. Working understanding of LiDAR, radar, cameras, and wireless technologies, with depth in at least one area. Solid Linux fundamentals including administration, troubleshooting, and scripting. Experience with simulation tools such as CARLA, SUMO, MATLAB/Simulink, or CST Studio. Skills in C/C++, embedded systems, CAD design, 3D printing, CNC machining, or pick-and-place systems. Hands-on experience with 5G/V2X platforms or drone (RPAS) certification. Do you have some of these skills but maybe not all?  We still encourage you to apply as we would love to review your unique application and learn more about you!
